God’s First Institution the Family

God has ordained the family as the foundational institution of human society. It is composed of persons related to one another by marriage, blood, or adoption. Aside from the brazen attack upon the Deity of Jesus Christ, the next platform of attack by Satan is the Family unit.

Eph 5:25-28, “Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it;

26 That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word,
27 That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.
28 So ought men to love their wives as their own bodies. He that loveth his wife loveth himself.” KJV

Marriage – commitment for a lifetime

Marriage is the uniting of one man and one woman in covenant commitment for a lifetime. It is God’s unique gift to reveal the union between Christ and His church and to provide for the man and the woman in marriage the framework for intimate companionship, the channel of sexual expression according to biblical standards, and the means for procreation of the human race.

The husband and wife are of equal worth before God, since both are created in God’s image. The marriage relationship models the way God relates to His people. A husband is to love his wife as Christ loved the church. He has the God-given responsibility to provide for, to protect, and to lead his family.

A wife is to submit herself as unto the Lord graciously to the servant leadership of her husband even as the church willingly submits to the headship of Christ. She, being in the image of God as is her husband and thus equal to him, has the God-given responsibility to respect her husband and to serve as his helper in managing the household and nurturing the next generation.

Children, from the moment of conception, are a blessing and heritage from the Lord. Parents are to demonstrate to their children God’s pattern for marriage. Parents are to teach their children spiritual and moral values and to lead them, through consistent lifestyle example and loving discipline, to make choices based on biblical truth. Children are to honor and obey their parents.

Inflation Biggest Threat to U.S. Economy in 2010

In 2009, we saw the monetary inflation created by the Federal Reserve's zero percent interest rates drive up the prices of U.S. stocks, without dramatically increasing the prices of U.S. consumer goods. We consider 2009 to have been a brief period of euphoria, before a rapid increase in the prices of food, energy, clothes and other necessities Americans need to live and survive. With Goldman Sachs and JP Morgan employees taking home record bonuses this month, it's only a matter of time before this money works its way through the system.

We saw an artificial boost in the U.S. GDP this year because of government stimulus spending. In our documentary 'The Dollar Bubble' we spoke about how the destructive 'Cash for Clunkers' program accounted for 42% of the U.S. government's reported 3.53% GDP growth in the 3Q of 2009. However, on December 22nd, the U.S. Bureau of Economic Analysis revised 3Q GDP growth down to 2.24%. After this latest revision, 'Cash for Clunkers' now accounts for the overwhelming majority of the reported GDP growth in the 3Q. Adjusted for real inflation, U.S. GDP is actually contracting today.

The current rate of U.S. inflation based on the U.S. government's reported CPI index on a year-over-year basis is 1.84%. However, it is our belief that the U.S. government's CPI index is understating inflation and real price inflation in the U.S. is already well above 5%. The CPI index is no longer calculated based on Americans maintaining the same standard of living, but is instead calculated based on an expected continual decline in the standard of living in America.

Decades ago, the CPI index tracked the price of a fixed basket of goods. Today, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) uses geometric weighting to decrease the weighting of goods that increase in price and increase the weighting of goods that decrease in price. The BLS also uses hedonic adjustments so that if a household appliance increases in price, they can justify it to being more energy efficient and say the price didn't rise, because you are enjoying increased pleasure from it.

With millions of baby boomers getting ready to retire, they all need to realize that although their social security payments may increase based on growth in the CPI index, it will not keep pace with real inflation. Retirees living on fixed incomes should calculate if they will be able to survive with less than half of the income they are expecting to receive. If they calculate that they will be unable to do so, they should seek at least some kind of part time work immediately so that they can accumulate physical gold and silver.

India is currently experiencing year-over-year inflation in food prices of nearly 20%. India's government has been denying that their 20% food inflation is coming from their record low interest rates of 4.75%. Instead, they are placing the blame on the weak monsoon season, which saw 23% less precipitation than normal levels. If India is seeing 20% food inflation with 4.75% interest rates, imagine how much food inflation the U.S. will soon see with 0% interest rates and a drought crisis in California that is worse than India.

California is our nation's number one state in terms of agriculture production. Rainfall in California for Water Year 2009 was down 24% from average annual precipitation. This was California's third consecutive year of below average precipitation. California's Water Resources Department is now estimating that in 2010, they will deliver only 5% of the water promised under their contracted allotments compared to the average of 68% over the past decade. Many California reservoirs are now at only 30% of capacity.

While the biggest financial concern for Americans today is making their mortgage payments, mortgage payments will soon be the least of their concerns. Within the next two to three years it is likely that the cost for the average American to fill their refrigerator with food for the month, will rise to a level that is higher than their average monthly mortgage payment. We could also see the average American need to work one full month of the year, just to afford their annual fuel cost to commute to work.

By the time inflation becomes the top story on the news each night, Americans will have already lost a great amount of their purchasing power. The mainstream media only reports on our current problems and is not smart enough to see the crises to come next. For every economic problem politicians try to solve by intervening in the free market, they create multiple new problems of even greater magnitude. Americans can only survive by staying ahead of the curve and anticipating the next threat to our economy, and the biggest threat in 2010 is inflation.

Clarification on Christianity and Physical Preparedness

I occasionally get e-mails from SurvivalBlog readers, asking about how I can justify active preparedness in light of my Christian faith. Some of them cite the "Lilies of the Field" passage in Matthew 6:25-34 (KJV):

"Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment? Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they? Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature? And why take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin: And yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and to morrow is cast into the oven, [shall he] not much more [clothe] you, O ye of little faith? Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed? (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things. But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day [is] the evil thereof."

In my view, people are misinterpreting these verses. These are verses about worry, not about work or preparedness. Never does the Bible teach that we should laze about and not provide for our families. Earning our daily bread is the Godly way to live. We are taught not to be lazy or dependent on others. Yes, we are to trust in God's providence, but nowhere do the scriptures absolve us of the responsibility to work or to save up for lean times. Consider these four verses from the book of Proverbs:

He that tilleth his land shall be satisfied with bread: but he that followeth vain [persons is] void of understanding.. Proverbs 12:11, KJV

In all labour there is profit: but the talk of the lips [tendeth] only to penury.(Poverty.) Proverbs 14:23, KJV

The desire of the slothful killeth him; for his hands refuse to labour. Proverbs 21:25, KJV

The thoughts of the diligent [tend] only to plenteousness; but of every one [that is] hasty only to want. Proverbs 21:5, KJV

Food Storage

The Bible encourages storing food. Look at Gen. 41:47-49 (KJV): "And in the seven plenteous years the earth brought forth by handfuls.Gen 41:48 And he gathered up all the food of the seven years, which were in the land of Egypt, and laid up the food in the cities: the food of the field, which [was] round about every city, laid he up in the same.And Joseph gathered corn as the sand of the sea, very much, until he left numbering; for [it was] without number." And then see Gen. 41:53-57: "And the seven years of plenteousness, that was in the land of Egypt, were ended.And the seven years of dearth began to come, according as Joseph had said: and the dearth was in all lands; but in all the land of Egypt there was bread. And when all the land of Egypt was famished, the people cried to Pharaoh for bread: and Pharaoh said unto all the Egyptians, Go unto Joseph; what he saith to you, do.And the famine was over all the face of the earth: And Joseph opened all the storehouses, and sold unto the Egyptians; and the famine waxed sore in the land of Egypt.And all countries came into Egypt to Joseph for to buy [corn]; because that the famine was [so] sore in all lands."

The preceding is a good example that illustrates the need for food storage. As I write this in 2008, a growing portion of the world is already experiencing famine. You should recognize that famine could just a well come to stalk America, Europe, the British Isles, and Australia. (The regions with the largest SurvivalBlog readership.) It is prudent and Biblically supported to stock up during good times in anticipation of lean times.

Prov. 6:6-15 (KJV): "Go to the ant, thou sluggard; consider her ways, and be wise: Which having no guide, overseer, or ruler, Provideth her meat in the summer, and gathereth her food in the harvest. How long wilt thou sleep, O sluggard? When wilt thou arise out of thy sleep? Yet a little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to sleep: So shall thy poverty come as one that travelleth, and thy want as an armed man. A naughty person, a wicked man, walketh with a forward mouth. He winketh with his eyes, he speaketh with his feet, he teacheth with his fingers; Forwardness is in his heart, he deviseth mischief continually; he soweth discord. Therefore shall his calamity come suddenly; suddenly shall he be broken without remedy."

The lessons from scripture are clear: Don't be lazy and lax. Store up in good times for future lean times. Consider this: "[There is] treasure to be desired and oil in the dwelling of the wise; but a foolish man spendeth it up." - Prov. 21:20 (KJV)

And ponder this Old Testament passage: Psalm 34:9-10 (KJV): "O fear the LORD, ye his saints: for [there is] no want to them that fear him.Psa 34:10 (KJV) "The young lions do lack, and suffer hunger: but they that seek the LORD shall not want any good [thing]." And then look at this New Testament passage:, from 1 Timothy 5:8 (KJV): "But if any provide not for his own, and specially for those of his own house, he hath denied the faith, and is worse than an infidel."

One of the many names of God is Jehovah Jireh, which means God Who Provides. As a Christian, I believe that God will provide for his covenant people. I believe that one of the many gifts that the God has provided is a conviction, by the Holy Spirit, to be well prepared. I realize that we are only on Earth for about 80 trips around the sun, and that is just the twinkling of an eye versus eternity. Where we end up after this brief life is far, far more important in the grand scheme of things. We will spend eternity either in heaven or in hell. But how we spend our +/-80 year life on Earth is up to us. (And the most important thing that we do in the is life is make ourselves right with God, though his Grace, to accepting eternal life in heaven. But stepping back to this temporal world: The Bible makes it very clear that we are to be good stewards of the blessings that God provides us. I therefore feel strongly convicted to not just share the gospel of Christ, but also to physically prepare for my own family, and store extra to dispense as charity. The bottom line: I can't continue to share the gospel if I starve to the point of achieving room temperature!

Self Defense
Other readers question how I can justify owning guns for self-defense. Some Mennonites, for example, eschew all means self defense and decry even the willingness to defend oneself or one's loved ones. That, in my opinion is taking "turning the other cheek" (Luke 6:29) to an extreme that is not scripturally founded.

Exodus 22:2 provides Biblical justification for killing someone if he intends to forcibly rob or kill another man: " If a thief be found breaking up, and be smitten that he die, [there shall] no blood [be shed] for him." Exodus 22:2 (KJV)

And Jesus teaches that it is wise to be armed, in Luke 22:35-36 (KJV): "And he said unto them, When I sent you without purse, and scrip, and shoes, lacked ye any thing? And they said, Nothing.
Then said he unto them, But now, he that hath a purse, let him take [it], and likewise [his] scrip: and he that hath no sword, let him sell his garment, and buy one."

In an article titled: What Does The Bible Say About Gun Control? Larry Pratt keenly observed the difference between self-defense and vengeance:

Resisting an attack is not to be confused with taking vengeance which is the exclusive domain of God (Rom. 12:19). This has been delegated to the civil magistrate, who, as we read in Romans 13:4, ". . . is God’s minister to you for good. But if you do evil, be afraid; for he does not bear the sword in vain; for he is God’s minister, an avenger to execute wrath on him who practices evil."

Private vengeance means one would stalk down a criminal after one’s life is no longer in danger as opposed to defending oneself during an attack. It is this very point that has been confused by Christian pacifists who would take the passage in the Sermon on the Mount about turning the other cheek (which prohibits private vengeance) into a command to falter before the wicked.

Let us consider also that the Sixth Commandment tells us: "Thou shall not murder." In the chapters following, God gave to Moses many of the situations which require a death penalty. God clearly has not told us never to kill. He has told us not to murder, which means we are not to take an innocent life. Consider also that the civil magistrate is to be a terror to those who practice evil. This passage does not in any way imply that the role of law enforcement is to prevent crimes or to protect individuals from criminals. The magistrate is a minister to serve as "an avenger to execute wrath on him who practices evil" (Rom. 13:4).

Jesus taught both to turn the other cheek and to be well-armed to defend oneself. The important factor is having the wisdom to know when to employ either approach depending on the circumstances. I pray, for wisdom, discernment, and discretion, daily. I don't seek out trouble, and in fact I have moved my family to a remote, lightly populated region in good part to avoid trouble. But if unavoidable trouble comes my way, I want to have the option of resisting force with force. And I only have that option if I am armed and trained.

Some critics of armed preparedness cite Matthew 26:52-54 (KJV), which descries how Jesus responded when Peter cut off the ear of a high priest's servant, using a sword: "Then said Jesus unto him, Put up again thy sword into his place: for all they that take the sword shall perish with the sword. Thinkest thou that I cannot now pray to my Father, and he shall presently give me more than twelve legions of angels? But how then shall the scriptures be fulfilled, that thus it must be?"

In context, Jesus is telling Peter that it would be suicidal to fight in that particular situation, since they were quite outnumbered. And of course Jesus knew it was in God's plan for him to be arrested, tried, crucified, and resurrected. Jesus told Peter to put his sword in its place –which was back in his belt. Jesus was telling Peter in effect that "there is a time to fight, and this, my friend, isn't it." He didn't command him to "throw that sword away", or "surrender it", or to "stop carrying it". After all, according to Luke, Jesus had just recently ordered the disciples to arm themselves. The reason for the arms was obviously to protect their own lives when traveling--not to protect His own life, which He intended to sacrifice, to pay for our sins, once and for all.

The Old testament teaches both to be armed, and to be trained. We read in Psalm 144:1:

Blessed [be] the LORD my strength,
which teacheth my hands to war,
[and] my fingers to fight:

Yes, as Christians our battles are mainly spiritual, but we must also be prepared to defend our lives, and the lives of our loved ones, against evildoers.

Charity

Charity--both in time of plenty and in times of disaster--is a Christian responsibility with its roots in the Old Testament tradition of Tzedaka. This responsibility--particularly for the support of widows and orphans--was repeated in the New Testament, such as in Acts 11:27-30: "And in these days came prophets from Jerusalem unto Antioch. And there stood up one of them named Agabus, and signified by the Spirit that there should be great dearth throughout all the world: which came to pass in the days of Claudius Caesar. Then the disciples, every man according to his ability, determined to send relief unto the brethren which dwelt in Judaea: Which also they did, and sent it to the elders by the hands of Barnabas and Saul."

The Biblical approach to survivalism is to avoid trouble, but to be ready for it nonetheless. And when trouble does come, have extra stores on hand, so that you can dispense copious charity. Give until it hurts!

Disaster Preparedness – Principles of Self-Sufficiency

1. Change the way you look at everything. Rethink your entire lifestyle.
2. Develop discernment about people.
3. When you invest, invest first in the right people.
4. Honesty, look at yourself, your strengths and your weaknesses.
5. Seek the counsel of others you trust.
6. Find like-minded people who can be part of a mutual support group and who you can cooperate with.
7. Find alternate methods for doing everything.
8. Develop an instinct for what doesn’t feel right. No matter how good something looks or sounds on the surface, go with your gut feeling, with your instinct, with your intuition.
9. Eliminate non-essentials from your life. Eliminate all time wasters and money wasters, and things you don’t need – i.e. clothes, furniture, junk, etc. Eliminate television from your life.
10. Simplify your lifestyle – learn to say ‘no’ to things or activities which do not make you self-sufficient. Learn to place
God and yourself, and not other people.
11. Develop physical, mental and spiritual disciplines.
12. Learn to treat everything as if it were irreplaceable.
13. Buy things that will last, even if they cost more.
14. Acquire tools that do not depend upon electric power.
15. Learn to spend time alone with yourself in total silence – think, reflect, reminisce, and plan [or strategize] in silence.
16. Learn to spend time alone with yourself and your family, apart from superficial entertainment and distractions.
17. Learn something from every situation you are in everything you hear, see, touch, or feel has a lesson in it. Learn a principle from every mistake you make, from everyday life situations.
18. Make sure your trust is in the Lord and not your own preparedness. Pattern your preparedness according to the guidance of the Lord. Listen to what the Lord puts in your heart – don’t use only your
reasoning power.
19. Learn to enjoy simple pleasures from the smallest things – have measure of joy and happiness that doesn’t come from creature comforts or entertainment.
20. Store up memories for times of isolation or separation from your loved ones.
21. Establish priorities for all of life [i.e. relationship, needs, present needs, future needs.] Set goals for areas you’ll be proficient or self-sufficient in. Set a schedule or time line based on money and time you can invest in self-sufficiency.
22. Examine the concept of civil disobedience [from the Bible and history.] At what point should the people of Egypt have said ‘no’ to killing the male babies in Moses’ day? At what point should the
people of colonial America have said ‘no’ to King George? At what point should the people of Germany have said ‘no’ to Hitler? At what point do we say ‘no’ to despots in our day – when they take
over money, our property, our guns, our children, our freedom? Decide what is your choke point – when do you move to civil disobedience? [For many throughout history - it was when evil
leaders handed down edicts that were directly contrary o God's Word or commands.] Don’t set your choke point too early or too quickly, nor too late, nor never. Think through or calculate a
strategy – then never look back.
23. Learn to ask the right questions in every situation. [In 'Operation Waco,' nobody asked the right questions.]
24. Bring orderliness into your life. If you live in disorder it will pull you down, it will break your focus. Think focus versus distraction. Eliminate the distractions from your life.
25. Self-sufficiency [or survival] principles are learned on a day-to-day basis and must be practical.
26. Always have more than one way to escape, more than one way to do something. Have a plan B and a plan C.
27. Everyday life [and especially crisis] requires ‘up-front systems’ and ‘back-up systems’ if the first line of defense or ‘up-front systems fails.
28. Real education [or learning] only takes place when change occurs in our attitudes, actions, and way of life.
29. Wisdom is making practical applications of what you know. It is not enough to know everything you need to know. It will only serve you and others if practical application is made of that knowledge.
30. Fix in your own mind the truth about your capabilities. In a crisis situation this principle will keep you from cockiness [or overconfidence] and will provide you with confidence.
31. Decide ahead of time before a crisis arrives, how you will react in a given situation so that you are not swayed by the circumstances, the situation, or your emotions.
32. Beware of being spread too thin in your life. Decide on the few things in life that you must do and do them well. Think focus versus distraction. Make sure that unimportant, non-essential distractions don’t keep you from achieving your important objectives.
33. Learn to quit wasting things. Be a good steward of all that God provides.
34. Buy an extra one of everything you use regularly and set the extra one aside for the time when such items may be difficult or impossible to obtain.
35. In every situation, train yourself to look for what doesn’t fit, for what’s out of place, for what doesn’t look right.
36. Teach your children [and yourself] that they are not obligated to give information to a stranger. You don’t have to answer questions [not even to a government official] that are none of their business.
37. Sell or give away things you do not use or need. Consider giving away or selling 50% of your ’stuff,’ [i.e. the non-essentials.] Simplify and streamline your life, lifestyle and possessions.
38. Find someone who lived through the Great Depression and learn from them how they were self-sufficient, how they made do with little, and how they found joy and contentment in the midst of hard times. An excellent book on this subject is We Had Everything But Money: Priceless Memories of the Great Depression.

There is no doubt that the Bible says clearly a “scattering of the holy people” will occur (Daniel 12: 7, last). The world is rushing on without most people realizing what is taking place around them. Our Savior, Jesus Christ, prophesied the consequence of disobedience in Leviticus 26 and Deuteronomy 28.

He lists the sins that our nation is involved right now – adultery, filthiness [nudity], homosexuality, lesbianism, lying in politics as well as the general society, stealing, etc. The list is nearly endless.

Look at today’s society! We see movies and TV programs that are pure filth. They portray and glorify the “works of the flesh.” We receive a constant bombardment of drug addiction and the sins that follow it. We see drunkenness glorified as the “in” thing to do. We see wives and husbands being unfaithful to each other. They forsake the covenant they made with each other. The “lust of the flesh” takes priority over Godliness and righteousness in the lives of the people of our nation.

Politicians are some of the worst sinners of all. They promise, in glowing terms, how wonderful they will be to their constituents, then turn around and violate every promise they have made. The American people have come to accept and tolerate the politicians as liars and crooks.

What is so shameful is when our enemy recognizes we have become a degenerate nation, as a whole but not every single person. Osama bin Laden, the most wanted criminal in the world, stated his views about our nation’s degeneracy. He said our president has not been held accountable for his lying to start the Iraqi war. The problem is: he’s right.

God called out to Israel to repent, and if not, all the curses of those two chapters would come upon us. One of the most amazing predictions is that “the stranger among us would get high above us.” They would bring us down. How would they bring us down?

We know that Communists had cells that infiltrated into our government at very high levels since FDR in the 1930s!. They are still there. We know people of secret societies walk the halls of Congress, the White House, and the Supreme Court. Secret societies are secret because they don’t tell what they are up to in secret.

Then there are people of the Islamic faith who hide behind it to cloak their real purposes. The refusal of our government to identify the enemy has caused the FBI to hire as special agents in charge of NATIONAL SECURITY - Muslims who were born and reared in terror-related countries. One such agent is Gama Abdel-Hafiz, an Egyptian national who obtained U.S. citizenship in 1990.

As a member of the FBI’s elite International Terrorism Squad, Hafiz was assigned to the case of Bait al-Mal, Inc., an Islamic bank in Secaucus, New Jersey, with financial ties to Osama bin Laden and other terrorists. In 1999 a BMI accountant informed the FBI that the bank’s funds had been used to finance the al-Qaeda bombings of the U.S. embassies in Kenya and Tanzania. When special Agent Hafiz was asked by his superiors to meet with Saliman Biheiri, the president of BMI, and to record the conversation, he expressed outrage and said a Muslim does not record another Muslim. He said that was against his religion.

But that’s not all! Hafiz became involved in the investigation of Sami al-Arian, a former professor of computer science at the University of South Florida. Former President George W. Bush’s family is good friends with his family. Al-Arian was the organizer of an American cell of the Palestinian Jihad and transferred vast sums of money to this terrorist group. In its manifesto, Palestinian Islamic Jihad speaks of the United States as the “Great Satan” and proclaims that the group’s OBJECTIVE is the destruction of Israel, and the END of all Western influence in the Middle East.

Al-Arian, along with his fellow University of South Florida professor, Basheer Nafi, created the World Islam Studies Enterprise [WISE], which became a breeding ground for jihadists. Blind sheikh Omar Abel-Rahman and a host of other co-conspirators of the 1993 attack on the World Trade Center were frequent visitors to WISE. By 1996, a hotline was established between New York and central Florida to coordinate terrorist activities. Many prominent jihadists from the Al-Farouq Mosque in Brooklyn and the al-Salam Mosque in Jersey City traveled the hotline. The list included Ramzi Yousef, the chief strategist of the 1993 attack; Jose Pidilla, indicted for attempting to blow up the Brooklyn Bridge, Mohammed Atta and other al-Qaeda operatives of 9/11. America is being set up for the next AMERICAN HIROSHIMA!!!

What is one of the most common and often repeated sins?

It is without a doubt the one committed with the unbridled tongue.

Nearly everyone has done it, and most continue to do it both day and night.

Profanity, vile words, vulgarity and the taking of the Lord's name in vain is spewing forth from the mouths of people throughout the world non-stop!

Parents have ordered God to damn their children, and children have ordered God to damn their parents. People have ordered
God to damn their houses, cars, tools, the driver in front of them, their relatives, the IRS and just about everything else.

Why do people speak so many profane, vile and vulgar words?

Why do so people call upon God to bring forth damnation on almost everything? Men and women who are in the condition of
extreme anger and rage will "cuss a blue streak!"

Their children will learn and copy this almost immediately, and another generation is polluted.

We must also remember that people of all ages hear filthy and vile words in movies and on television, and then go on assimilate hell's vocabulary with ever increasing frequency.

Another reason why people have such vulgar mouths is one that is a combination of pride and insecurity. Fully grown men and
women, especially men, often use filthy words, because they are really ten-year-olds in an adult body. Men, especially are
under the delusion that filthy words prove that they are fully matured "macho men." In reality, they sound like they were born in a cellar and never brought up.

Some of these "macho men" and vile women seem to have a vocabulary of about 25 words and use the infamous four-letter "F" word to fill in the blank spaces of their mental deficit. That repulsive four letter "F" word has been used as a noun, pronoun, adjective, verb, adverb, preposition, and as parts of speech unknown.

The truth is that profanity and vulgarity will never enhance anyone's position and neither is it funny.

It will always make you sound stupid, ignorant, and repulsive, but there are worse consequences than these.

Who is harmed by profanity? Why is it so serious? The answer to those questions is found in the Scripture.

From the Bible we learn that it is a direct sin against God himself, and it is not one that he will overlook nor excuse.

In Exodus 20:7, we find one of the ten commandments, the third one to be exact, warns us with these words, "Thou shalt not
take the name of the Lord thy God in vain; for the Lord will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain." The unbridled
tongue is a direct offense against God himself!

In James 3:6-8, we are also warned; "And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity: so is the tongue among our members, that it
defileth the whole body, and setteth on fire the course of nature; and is set on fire of hell. For every kind of beasts, and of birds, and of serpents, and of things in the sea, is tamed, and hath been tamed of mankind: But the tongue can no man tame, it is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison."

Profanity also puts us in a special status with God; it makes us his enemy or identifies us with his enemies.

Psalm 139:20 clearly warns us, "For they speak against thee wickedly, and thine enemies take thy name in vain." Thus, profanity is an indicator that we are not right with God, and that we are accounted to be his enemy.

"But I don't mean anything by it; they're just idle words!" That is what some may say. We must remember, however, that words many times have a much greater effect on the hearer than on the one speaking them. Words may be idle jargon to the speaker, but how is the hearer receiving them?

God, who hears every word, has this to say in Matthew 12:34-37; "O generation of vipers, how can ye, being evil, speak good things? For out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh. A good man out of the good treasure of the heart, bringeth forth good things: and an evil man out out of the evil treasure bringeth forth evil things. But I say unto you, that every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgement. For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned."

If you have been caught and ensnared by the filthy habit of profanity, there is help and deliverance available from God Almighty. You must truly and sincerely repent and ask God to bridle your tongue with his Word and power. We at Last Trumpet Ministries are ready to help you to overcome this sin and any others that plague your life and the lives of those around you. Once you have received the power of salvation and deliverance, you won't be ordering God to "dammit" anymore, but rather to save souls from damnation. With this tract comes a prayer for you! In this issue of the Last Trumpet Newsletter, we will consider a very sobering subject of the utmost urgency. We have watched for years how our government, educational systems, churches, financial institutions, and nearly every other endeavor of man has increasingly entertained the agenda of Satan in its many faceted forms and guises. The conspiratorial forces of antichrist have been working for so long now that the original purposes of these institutions are hardly recognizable, and their causes are long ago forgotten. What will happen next?

We know that the time line that we are moving through is measured by Bible prophecy. There really are no surprises as we have been warned by the Bible of the dangers of sin and its consequences. Everything foretold in prophecy is now coming to pass and right on schedule. The question that is so often asked is where are we right now? It is a fact that we live in a time that is unique in all of history. It is an electronic world connected by the internet, satellites, microchips, and spy devices. Along with all of this is the rising of a one-world Marxist-socialist government, disguised as democracy. It is a sad fact that the vast majority of people are in the depth of ignorance, and others are pickled in the brine of apathy. It is sad to watch the "common herd" of humanity being driven, corralled, and branded by the beast system. It is hard to live among a society that is so demonized that they accept homosexuality, immorality, and filth of every kind. When people are in this condition, they are easily managed because they have no character. Are we at the point of no return? There is such a point, and if we are not at it, we are most assuredly not far from it.

A book was once written by the late Ayn Rand, a mistress to the erstwhile Illuminati hierarch, Phillipe Rothschild. The book is titled Atlas Shrugged, and it is a comprehensive plan and blueprint for world takeover in the last days. Rand wrote of this takeover in somewhat cryptic form for her master, Rothschild, at his behest. On page 413 she wrote the following words: "When you see that trading is done, not by consent, but by compulsion - when you see that in order to produce, you need to obtain permission from men who produce nothing - when you see money flowing to those who deal, not in goods, but in favors - when you see that men get richer by graft and pull than by work, and your laws don't protect you against them, but protect them against you - when you see corruption being rewarded and honesty becoming self-sacrifice - you may know that your society is doomed."

Yes, there is a point of no return, and the Bible teaches us that only Divine intervention stops the evil that has been unleashed in the world. The return of the Lord Jesus Christ is just ahead, and Judgment Day will bring all things to light. Eternity will follow and we will all spend it somewhere. If you have not yet surrendered your heart, soul, and mind to the Lord Jesus, you must do so now, before you reach the point of no return. There is still time, but not much of it. The Saviour will accept you if you answer his call!

Dark Shadows in the White House!

On October 9th, 2009, in his ninth month in office, President Barack Obama was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize. (1) In occult numerology, three 9's indicates finality. Three 9's are also an inverted 666. The world was in shock that a man who has really done nothing was given such an honor and high award. The question heard around the world that day was, "What did he do to deserve this award?" Why did he receive it? The answer is a spiritual one. This man who is literally worshipped by many of his subjects is now known as the "man of peace." The Scripture tells us that a man of "peace" would rise up in the last days and destroy many. In Daniel 8:25 we read as follows: "And through his policy also he shall cause craft to prosper in his hand; and he shall magnify himself in his heart, and by peace shall destroy many: he shall also stand up against the Prince of princes; but he shall be broken without hand." In Jeremiah 6:14, we also read the following: "They have healed also the hurt of the daughter of my people slightly, saying Peace, peace; when there is no peace." We must also take note of I Thessalonians 5:3 as follows: "For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape." Here let it be noted that the Almighty gave us a definite sign to watch for regarding the coming of the man of false peace. He described the coming of this man with his destructive peace as a woman in travail and giving birth. The human gestation period is nine months, and Obama received the "peace prize" during his ninth month in office. It was also stated that Obama received the prize not for what he has done, but for what he is going to do. Obama is now being referred to by the news media as the "Seed of peace." (2) Obama has also been called by the news media, "the one who supplanted the bluster and obstinacy on the world stage." We know that the name Jacob means supplanter, and the final days of tribulation are known as Jacob's trouble. Jeremiah 30:6-7 ties this all together as follows: "Ask ye now, and see whether a man doth travail with child? Wherefore do I see every man with his hands on his loins, as a woman in travail, and all faces are turned into paleness? Alas! For that day is great, so that none is like it: it is even the time of Jacob's trouble; but he shall be saved out of it."

One more point that must be made regarding this is that Obama received the Nobel Peace Prize exactly thirteen weeks after his self-proclaimed "day of rest" on July 11th, 2009. In a previous issue of this newsletter, I referred to this regarding Obama's second one hundred days in office, which he said he would complete early-- by July 10th. Of the 11th day of July, he said, "I will rest." This Nobel Peace Prize awarded to Obama was planned well in advance. We also know that according to the worldwide news service, AFP, that three members of the committee of five in Norway were definitely opposed to giving the prize to Obama, but somehow, the decision emerged as unanimous. (3)

What strange and shadowy force is driving Obama and his adoring subjects? Why are children in public schools being taught to worship him as a god? Burlington Township, New Jersey, is one of many places where schools are teaching Obama praise songs to the children and have drawn protestors because of it. (4) In some schools, the religious hymn "Jesus Loves the Little Children" has been changed to the following words: "Obama loves the little children; all the children of the world. Red and yellow, black and white, all are equal in his sight Barack Obama loves the children of the world" If that song were sung the original way using the name Jesus, it would be a Federal crime! These are the days of antichrist!

Why is Barack Obama finding such a favored status to the extent that the U.S. House of Representatives has laid down the following rules, according to House Rules Committee Chairwoman Louise Slaughter: No member of Congress may call the President a liar or a hypocrite. They may not refer to his veto of a bill as cowardly. It is also illegal to refer to Obama as being intellectually dishonest, as giving aid and comfort to the enemy, or to allege sexual misconduct on the President's part. (5) I must say that it would be difficult to be accurate regarding Obama if we were forbidden to use these words. Obama and his team, however, are not very careful about how they speak. In a recent article that appeared in Politico by Kenneth P. Vogel, it was reported that an unusual amount of profanity has been emanating from the White House. (6) Terrible language is being used by Obama, Biden, and even Christina Romer, the economic advisor, that has shocked the members of the press and media. The notorious and repulsive "F" word is often heard, and reporters have wondered why there is such a profuse amount of profanity. The answer is simple. Wherever there is a concentration of demons and demonic activity, you will find profanity. In Psalm 139:20 we read of this as follows: "For they speak against thee wickedly, and thine enemies take thy name in vain."

Some people are beginning to wake up, and I believe more will rise up as conditions continue to worsen. Near Blue Springs, Missouri, there is a large billboard on Interstate 70 which says, "How do you like your change now? Obama Nation. They are coming for you! The Taxpayer, First and Second Amendments are in jeopardy. Live free or die." There is also a hammer and sickle on the billboard. (7) Another example of protest is coming from a small American clothing manufacturer that markets its clothing products in France. I am looking at the collar tag on the inside of the shirt, which contains laundering instructions and a brief message in the French language. The English translation of the collar tags reads as follows: "Wash with warm water, use mild soap, dry flat, do not bleach, do not dry in the dryer, do not iron. We are sorry that our President is an idiot. We did not vote for him." (8)

There are many questions that need to be answered regarding Obama and his administration. Why does First Lady Michelle Obama have twenty-six personal staff members and attendants? She is a figurehead only and has no assigned duties; however, she has twenty-six attendants being paid a total of $1,256,770.00 per year. This includes her Chief of Staff, Susan Sher, whose salary is $172,200.00. She also has a makeup artist, Ingrid Miles, and a hairstylist, Johnny Wright. All of this was reported recently in the Canadian Free Press. (9) Apparently, the multimillionaire Obamas, who are supposed to be for the poor and downtrodden, sure know how to live high and waste money!

Federal Management of the Human Body!

At this very moment, we are at a point of no return regarding health care in the United States. The Obama health care scheme does not have health care in mind at all. It is a clever system of control and micro-management of every human body in America. Here let it be noted that Mat Staver, Dean of the Liberty University School of Law, recently compiled a comprehensive list that explains what the new Obama health care system will really do to oppress the American people. There are over one thousand pages in this health care bill so I can only print some of the provisions in this newsletter. Consider the following: Page 22- All self-insured employers will have their books audited. Page 29- Your health care will be rationed. Page 30- A Government committee decides what treatment and benefits you will receive. Page 50- Health care will be provided to all non-U.S. citizens, illegal or otherwise. Page 58- A National ID Health Care Card will be issued, and the Government will have access to individual's finances. Page 126- Employers must pay for health care for part-time employees and their families. Page 427- The Government mandates a program for orders for end of life; the Government has a say in how your life ends. Page 429- "Advanced care consultation" may include an order for end of life plans, an order from the Government. Page 429- The Government will specify which doctors can write an end of life order. (10) There are so many other oppressive mandates that would make the United States worse than Soviet Russia and Red China ever were. Only God can help us; we are at the point of no return!

Another outrageous fact about the new health care bill, is that it would require everyone to buy into it or be fined up to $3800. (11) Conspiracy and treason is manifesting everywhere in Washington, D.C., and the reports of nefarious activity are constant. On September 23rd, 2009, Republicans tried to bring forth an amendment that would force the Senate Finance Committee to wait seventy-two hours before voting on the Health Care Reform Bill. The three days were needed to read and review the proposal, but this request for seventy-two hours was blocked by Obama's Democrat stooges. (12) On October 1st, 2009, the Republicans tried to introduce restrictions on abortion in Obama's Health Care Bill, which allows for full payment for abortions with no restrictions. The Republican effort was quickly defeated, and in response to this effort, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid put the Senate on notice that they "must move quickly to pass this bill." (13) On September 30th, 2009, Republican Senator Chuck Grassley stated the following: "The current law and the Health Care Bill under consideration are too lax and leave the door open to illegal immigrants defrauding the government using false or stolen identities to obtain benefits." The effort to block illegal immigrants from health care was also defeated, and the new law eliminates any requirement for ID if you are illegally residing in the United States. (14)

These are strange times when everything seems backwards and upside down. I must also mention at this point that the homosexual and other immoral lifestyles in America have done more to drive up the cost of health care than anything else. Immorality, pornography, homosexuality, lesbianism, and so much other unmentionable filth has infected the United States of America to epidemic proportions. In early October, nearly 200,000 sodomites marched on Washington, D.C., demanding equal rights and recognition. What a sad day in our history when these militant perverts, of the very type that God rained fire upon, would gather in such large numbers at the nation's Capital. The sodomite leaders clearly stated that they were no longer willing to wait for acceptance. (15)

Immorality and the sexual revolution are a conspiracy in and of themselves. The internet, Hollywood, television, and other media are all flaunting immoral activity as a primary project. Satan and his antichrist forces have been working for a long time to bring forth a one-world government. To accomplish this, he must bring all humanity under his infernal control. It is not enough to have a one-world money system, a one-world church, and a one-world government. Satan would also need to weld all of humanity together spiritually until they are one flesh. This is accomplished through forbidden sexual unions. In I Corinthians 6:16 we read the following shocking words: "What? Know ye not that he which is joined to an harlot is one body? For two, saith he, shall be one flesh." Thus, Satan knows that when a person fornicates with another, they become one flesh. But they also become one flesh with every other person their partner was with. If a man has been with a harlot and she had been with ten other men and those men had been with ten other harlots and so on, it is possible that nearly all humanity could be networked and combined as one flesh. Here let it be noted that a recent study conducted by Lloyd's Pharmacy chain in Britain revealed some amazing results. The pharmacy used an online calculator to determine the risks of sexually transmitted diseases and found that the average British man has had nine sexual partners and the average British woman has had six. Computers were used to calculate all of the interactions submitted by volunteer participants and found that the average person had 2.8 million sex partners by extension. (16) This is not a misprint! The story was featured by the international news service AFP on September 23rd, 2009. Satan has found many willing participants to make his system work. If you are a true Christian, your past is removed, and you are washed by the saving grace of Jesus Christ.

In conjunction with the new Obama Health Care Plan, as if timed perfectly, is the H1N1 flu virus, sometimes called swine flu. I have covered this subject before, and there is more than enough evidence that this flu virus was intentionally manufactured in laboratories for the purpose of population control through fear. The flu vaccine is now out in both nasal mist live virus form or by injection. The Government claims that the vaccine is perfectly safe, but many people are not accepting that. In the state of New York, where it is mandatory for health workers to receive the immunization, there has been a massive revolt by the health workers. They are flatly refusing to accept the vaccine! Mass rallies and protests by the health care workers broke out in Albany. (17) Do they know something a lot of people don't know? On September 25th, 2009, the Los Angeles Times reported that a recent study revealed that most parents in the United States are refusing to have their children immunized for H1N1 because they are concerned about the risks. Only forty percent said they would allow their children to be vaccinated. (18) Here let it be noted that an increasing number of people are becoming aware of the dangerous substances, such as mercury and rancid protein, that are found in vaccines. In two recent studies by the Government, it was found that autism among children has increased from 1 in 160 to 1 in every 100 children. (19) There is strong evidence that the many vaccines being given to children are causing this!

On September 21st, 2009, a press release revealed that the Verichip Corporation and its affiliates have been awarded two new patents. Patent numbers 7,504,364 and 7,469,076 are for a microchip system that can detect viruses by type in the human body, including the H1N1 virus. (20) The question that should be asked is how can a chip be programmed to detect viruses by name and type unless the plan for the virus already exists? In the future, people may well be getting calls from their health providers telling them that the detection and ID chip that was implanted in them has detected a virus, and they should report for treatment. It is later than you think!

Mismanagement and the Root of all Evil!

The Scripture tells us in I Timothy 6:10, "For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows." At a glance, we can see that the economy of the United States is a complete wreck, and the rise in stock market averages does nothing for the countless unemployed people. Everything is global and international now. The national debt continues to rise to astronomical levels, and the U.S. Senate is now being forced to raise the national debt ceiling above twelve trillion dollars ($12,000,000,000,000). (21) We know that light travels at approximately 186,000 miles per second, and at that fantastic rate of speed, light would travel a linear distance of six trillion miles, the measure of a light year. Our national debt is twice that number in dollars. Our economy has reached a point of no return, and Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Shalom Bernanke knows this is true. The Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, which is already strapped because of the many bank failures, is reporting that additional bank failures could cost 100 billion dollars. (22) Remember, these dollars do not evaporate; someone gets them, and it is always those at the top of corporate conspiracy that come out ahead. The middle class is rapidly disappearing in America, and Obama is getting ready to finish it off. The current situation was caused by bank failures and crashes over the housing market. Next will come a major crash regarding commercial properties and businesses; then will come the big crash of banks over unpaid credit card debt. There are three great fiscal woes, and two are yet to come.

On October 3rd, 2009, Federal regulators closed down several more banks in Michigan, Colorado, and Minnesota; bringing the number so far this year to ninety-eight. (23) The signs of financial ruin are everywhere, and the people who are walking the desolate streets of America are near to the point of open revolt. When the G-20 Summit convened in Pittsburgh in late September 2009, they found massive numbers of angry people and mobs of revolutionaries worked up into a fever pitch. They were trying to make their voice known to the convention of crooks that are running the governments of twenty nations, including the United States. (24) Then, something happened that had never happened before on American soil. American forces used aggressive acoustic weapons on American people. These weapons had previously been used only in Iraq and other foreign war zones. These weapons delivered an ear-piercing sound exceeding 150 decibels, which is louder than a jet engine. It is accompanied by stern voice commands that penetrate the mind. (25) Very soon, what I have been saying for years will be proven true; that is, the greatest enemy of any people is its own government! History has verified this repeatedly!

On October 8th, 2009, the Associated Press featured a story about police officers randomly stopping and frisking people on the streets of our American cities. They call the program "stop and frisk" and have stopped more than one million people in various cities for absolutely no reason! (26) It could happen to you anytime the police get a notion to frisk you!

On October 6th, 2009, various OPEC nations announced that they were going to ditch the U.S. dollar. Immediately, the price of gold jumped to $1,038.65 per ounce, which was a record high. (27) On October 12th, 2009, Bloomberg News Service published a story stating that the U.S. dollar had reached a breaking point because central banks were snubbing the dollar and replacing it with euros and yen. (28) What is happening in the erstwhile great nation of America? Why has so much wealth flowed from America and into Red China? Economically, the Red Chinese have already taken over our country. Is it any wonder that the Red Chinese flag was raised over Washington, D.C., in September 2009? This was done in our nation's Capital to commemorate the anniversary of the communist takeover of China by Chairman Mao sixty years ago. What gives Secretary of State Hillary Clinton the right to offer the Red Chinese your property and mine as collateral against the debt owed by America to China? Here let it also be noted that on September 30th, 2009, the massive Empire State Building in New York City was lighted for three nights in the colors of red and yellow in honor of the communist Chinese revolution! (29) Do these Chinese Reds deserve any honor at all? In an article printed over a year ago in the St Petersburg Times, the nation of Red China is facing an unusual dilemma. For many years they murdered so many baby girls in favor of a stronger male population that now the ratio is 30 men for every one woman. The article goes on to say that the Red Chinese male work force is full of lustful men because of the shortage. (30) Now their eyes are on America!

Will the U.S. dollar collapse? On October 6th, 2009, the United Nations called for a new reserve currency to replace the dollar. (31) The Obama Administration has printed so much more money that the existing supply is worth continually less. It is a weak, thinned out, and watered down economy. Furthermore, existing goods and services will quickly absorb the excess money supply and inflation will rise to record levels. It is quite obvious that all of this is being done intentionally to bring forth new one-world electronic money. This will be the Beast system as mentioned in Revelation, chapter 13. According to the London Daily Telegraph on October 2nd, 2009, the World Bank will run out of money within twelve months. (32) We are that close to the end.

The signs of the times are everywhere. Many people have noticed that stores of every kind have been greatly cutting back on inventory because they just don't have the money to buy much. A prime example of the severity of the problem is the large fleet of empty cargo ships anchored just east of Singapore. It is called the Ghost Fleet, as reported with a full series of photgraphs by the London Daily Mail on September 28th, 2009. "It is the biggest and most secretive gathering of ships in maritime history. It is larger than the British and U.S. navies combined but have no crew, no cargo, and no destination." At the very end of September through the beginning of October, just after the G-20 Economic Summit, disasters began to happen all over the world. (38) At that same time, two more powerful quakes of magnitudes 7.6 and 6.6 struck near Samoa, sending a tsunami across the region, which left widespread destruction and thousands dead or missing. (39) The very creation is crying out against sinful man.

In early October, a strange, unique, and unexplainable halo appeared over Moscow, Russia. It glimmered with bright light and was captured on video. Nothing like it had ever been seen before. It was massive and appeared to be some sort of doorway or portal filled with brilliant brightness. Iran threatens to invade Pakistan, "crushing response" for US, UK

Iranian Revolutionary Guards chief Mohammed Ali Jafari

The commander of Iran's Revolutionary Guards (IRGC) Maj. Gen. Mohammad Ali Jafary, Monday, Oct. 19, threatened "crushing" retaliation against the US, UK and Pakistan including the invasion of its eastern neighbor. Tehran links all three to the suicide bombing attack in Sistan-Baluchistan Sunday, Oct. 18, which killed 42 people including seven senior Guards officers. One was Gen. Nur Ali Shoustari, Jafari's deputy, who was identified by DEBKAfile's counter-terror sources as commander of the al Qods clandestine terror bases in Iraq, Pakistan, Lebanon and the Gaza Strip.

Jafary said: "Behind this scene are the American and British intelligence apparatus and there will have to be retaliatory measures to punish them."

DEBKAfile's Iranian sources note that is the first time in Iran's 30-year Islamic revolution that a military leader has gone to the extreme lengths of threatening to strike US and British military targets, a measure of the damage the regime and Guards suffered from the suicide attack, which has since been condemned and denied by Washington.

Jafari expanded on his charge by saying: "New evidence has been obtained proving the link between yesterday's terror attack and the US, British and Pakistani intelligence services." He spoke of evidence showing that all three supported the group. "A delegation would soon travel to Pakistan to present it," he said.

A military official in Tehran then suggested Iran might launch a military thrust into Pakistan against the group blamed for the attack. Lawmaker Payman Forouzesh said: "There is even unanimity that these operations (could) take place in Pakistan territory."

Tehran accuses the Sunni secessionist terrorist group Jundallah of Baluchistan, which is fighting for the predominantly Sunni province's independence, of carrying out the suicide bombing in provincial town of Pisheen near the Pakistan and Afghanistan borders. In the past, Tehran has charged the Pakistani Inter-Service Intelligence agency and the CIA of supporting the group. It has carried out a string of terrorist attacks on regime and Shiite targets including in 2007 a failed assassination attempt on president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.

DEBKAfile's Iranian sources report that Tehran will have to make good on its threats without too much delay or lose face among the political and ethnic minority dissidents plaguing on the regime, especially those who rose up in protest against the tainted June 20 presidential election. Hesitation will be seen as weakness.

Past Iranian reprisals were usually carried against the US or Britain indirectly in the Persian Gulf or by local Islamic surrogates like Hizballah in Iraq. Jafari's words point to a more direct showdown this time by the IRGC or its terrorist arm al Qods.

Obama Issues Grim Warning To Russia And China: “We Will Attack”

Early reports from President Medvedev and Foreign Minister Lavrov’s meeting with US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton [photo 2^nd left] state that President Obama has issued a “grim warning” to Russia and China that the Americans are prepared to “massively attack” should they carry out their plans to replace the US Dollar with the Rouble and Yuan in cross-border trade.

Especially unnerving to both Russia and China about Obama’s warning is that it came at the moment that Prime Minister Putin was meeting in Beijing with Chinese President Hu on finalizing their plans to replace the US Dollar as our World’s main Global Currency in favor a basket of currencies as the ‘Gas Wars’ of the 21^st Century are nearing open warfare.

Russia and China in pitting themselves against the Americans, and the West, in what is shaping up to be the pivotal conflict of our era, just announced a $25 Billion agreement for Russian energy giant Gazprom to supply energy-hungry China with natural gas in a move to further strengthen their alliance against the US who this year announced an over 35% increase in their reserves brining them closer to their goal of energy independence.

Not being told the American people by their propaganda media is that as Russia has now toppled Saudi Arabia as the World’s largest oil producer, the Saudis have been put into the previously unthinkable position of demanding that the West provide it with massive financial assistance as it faces total economic collapse.

Even more importantly being kept from the American people is the critically, and decisive for the 21^st Century, Persian Nation of Iran, which holds the largest natural gas reserves in the World at over 991 Trillion cubic feet that is coveted by the energy starved Europeans, and whose continued threats of war are nothing but their not-so- subtle attempt to keep the Iranians out of the ‘orbit’ of the Russian and Chinese.

Russian economic analysts state in these reports that Obama’s ‘grand scheme’ for the survival of United States is the ‘rapid shifting’ of its economy from one being dependant upon oil to one of natural gas which will see that Nation build an infrastructure of natural gas run power stations they say will be able to ‘totally’ power their economy and eliminate all energy imports (oil, gas, propane, etc.) by 2018.

So enthusiastic have the Americans become over Obama’s plan for their Nation’s energy independence that the US Federal Energy Regulatory Commission stated at the just concluded World Gas Conference in Buenos Aires that they “may not need any new coal or nuclear plants “ever” again.”

However, and as these reports starkly point out, the nearly “impenetrable wall” that Obama must first get through in seeing his “grand scheme” come to fruition is the World’s willingness to finance it, but with a National debt fast approaching $12 Trillion, and the United Nations now joining the call for the replacing of the US Dollar with a new Global reserve currency, the likelihood is that the United States will collapse before seeing its dreams of freedom survive.

Worse still for Obama’s “grand scheme” was this past weeks “sneak attack” on the US Dollar that is being blamed by the West on Arab oil sheiks said to be conspiring with the Russians and Chinese, but which FSB sources state was engineered by the dissident CIA and Mossad factions whose Federal Reserve and European banking ‘masters’ who have openly declared “war” on the American President and according to these reports raises the risk of a rightist-coup against Obama to a ‘near certainty’.

The reemergence to power of these banksters in America seeking its destruction are eerily echoing their moves against President Roosevelt who they tried to throw out of power during their planned 1933 Business Plot Coup led by the American Nazi fascist leader Prescott Bush who financed Adolph Hitler into power and was the father and grandfather to US Presidents George, and George W. Bush.

And so contemptuous of Obama have these banksters become that the failed US banking giant Goldman Sachs, who were just bailed out to the tune of Billions of Dollars by American taxpayers, is now planning on awarding themselves over $20 Billion in bonuses as their Nation and its growing masses of unemployed peoples continue falling into the abyss of total economic collapse.

Even worse, the dimwitted American people are now reported to be so brainwashed by their fascist bankster and corporate slave masters that the majority of them now see Obama as their ‘enemy’, and which is the same ‘master plan’ used against President John F. Kennedy who, like Obama, dared to go to war against these monsters by his ordering the Federal Reserve to be “stripped of all powers” and returning the printing of Dollars to the US Treasury, but which, sadly, led to his assassination.

The 28^th President of the United States, Woodrow Wilson, once warned his Nation… “Since I entered politics, I have chiefly had men's views confided to me privately. Unfortunately the American people have failed to heed either one of them as evidenced by their allowing the Nazi coup against Roosevelt to fade from their history books and the murder of Kennedy to go unanswered for.

With such a people supposedly standing behind him, one does wonder how Obama can survive with only these cowards and idiots to protect and defend him, or why he would even want to.

Yesterday, in what the Dallas Morning News described as a “powerful homage”, President Barack Obama praised former President George H.W. Bush saying that Bush's “words, works and entire life were an inspiration” and marveling at the example of the “extraordinary ripple effect” one person can have over history.

And Obama was right!

From President George H.W. Bush’s father, US Senator Prescott Bush, financing the rise of Nazi Germany’s Adolph Hitler and the 1933 coup against President Franklin Roosevelt, to his involvement in the assassination of President John F. Kennedy, to his support of other assassinations while Director of the CIA, to the attempted assassination of President Ronald Reagan, while Bush was Vice President, at the hand of the “lone assassin” John Hinckley Jr., who just happened to be the son of one of Bush’s oldest friends and Texas oil business partner John Hinckley Sr., to his engineering the rise of his son, George W Bush, to the American Presidency through a stolen election, to all of these, and too many more to put into one single message, one can indeed see the “extraordinary ripple effect” he has had upon America, and the World.

In any normal society a family like the Bush’s would have long ago been called what they in fact are, a criminal enterprise…and in the case of the Bush Family, the largest and deadliest criminal organization known in the history of mankind!

And like any mafia underling approaching their Godfather, Obama dutifully praised George H.W. Bush as his “inspiration” and has followed in his, Bush’s, path by continuing the looting the American people by their Wall Street banking overlords that will soon see them all become nothing more than debt slaves beholden to their Washington and New York City masters.

The supposed “first protectors” of the American people, their “Free Press”, was designed and protected by their Founding Fathers for the express purpose of protecting their Nation against such monsters, and before his death, President John F. Kennedy gave a speech before the American Newspaper Publishers Association wherein he warned…

“The very word "secrecy" is repugnant in a free and open society; and we are as a people inherently and historically opposed to secret societies, to secret oaths and to secret proceedings. We decided long ago that the dangers of excessive and unwarranted concealment of pertinent facts far outweighed the dangers which are cited to justify it. Even today, there is little value in opposing the threat of a closed society by imitating its arbitrary restrictions. The lies being told to the American people would take up volumes to print, and include the latest “We have the best health care system in the World”, when in fact the United States ranks 37^th out of 191 countries despite their spending more on health care than all of the others.

The invitation to speak from Egypt's Al Azhar mosque follows an announcement over this past weekend that Obama will travel to Egypt next month to deliver his promised address to the Muslim world.

According to Al-Masri Al-Yawm, a state-run Egyptian newspaper, Grand Mufti Ali Gomaa and other scholars from Egypt's Al Azhar University invited Obama to use the mosque as venue for the president's upcoming visit, explaining it would promote a culture of dialogue between Islam and the West.

Al AZhar University is the most respected Sunni Islamic learning center in the world and is the second oldest degree-granting school in the world. Clerics at the university's attendant mosque decide Islamic sharia law matters for Sunni Muslims internationally.

The university opened studies in 975 AD. It was founded by the Fatimid dynasty of Egypt, which is descended from the daughter of the Islamic figure Muhammad.

Is this the change you really voted for? President Obama has only been in office for two months. Now we have HR 1388. The Bill was sponsored by Rep. Carolyn McCarthy (D-NY) with 37 others. The Bill was introduced to the floor of the House of Representatives where both Republicans and Democrats voted 321-105 in favor. Next it goes to the Senate for a vote and then on to President Obama.

This bill’s title is called “Generations Invigorating Volunteerism and Education” (GIVE). It forms what some are calling “Obama’s Youth Brigade.” Obama’s plan is require anyone receiving school loans and others to serve at least three months as part of the brigade. His goal is one million youth! This has serious Nazi Germany overtones to it.

The Bill would forbid any student in the brigade to participate in “engaging in religious instruction, conducting worship services, providing instruction as part of a program that includes mandatory religious instruction or worship, constructing or operating facilities devoted to religious instruction or worship, maintaining facilities primarily or inherently devoted to religious instruction or worship, or engaging in any form of religious proselytization.” That means no church attendance or witnessing.

Again, is this what America voted for? Here is part of the HR1388 Bill’s wording:

SEC. 1304. PROHIBITED ACTIVITIES AND INELIGIBLE ORGANIZATIONS.

Section 125 (42 U.S.C. 12575) is amended to read as follows:

I am a student of history. Professionally. I have written 15 books six
languages, and have studied it all my life. I think there is something
monumentally large afoot, and I do not believe it is just a banking crisis,
or a mortgage crisis, or a credit crisis. Yes these exist, but they are
merely single facets on a very large gemstone that is only now coming into a
sharper focus.

Something of historic proportions is happening. I can sense it because I
know how it feels, smells, what it looks like, and how people react to it.
Yes, a perfect storm may be brewing, but there is something happening within
our country that has been evolving for about ten - fifteen years. The pace
has dramatically quickened in the past two.

We demand and then codify into law the requirement that our banks make
massive loans to people we know they can never pay back. Why?

We learn just days ago that the Federal Reserve, which has little or no real
oversight by anyone, has 'loaned' two trillion dollars (that is
$2,000,000,000,000) over the past few months, but will not tell us to whom
or why or disclose the terms. That is our money. Yours and mine. And that is
three times the 700B we all argued about so strenuously just this past
September. Who has this money? Why do they have it? Why are the terms
unavailable to us? Who asked for it? Who authorized it? I thought this was a
government of 'we the people,' who loaned our powers to our elected leaders.
Apparently not.

We have spent two or more decades intentionally de-industrializing our
economy. Why? We have intentionally dumbed down our schools, ignored our
history, and no longer teach our founding documents, why we are exceptional,
and why we are worth preserving. Students by and large cannot write, think
critically, read, or articulate. Parents are not revolting, teachers are not
picketing, and school boards continue to back mediocrity. Why?

We have now established the precedent of protesting every close election
(now violently in California over a proposition that is so controversial
that it wants marriage to remain between one man and one woman. Did you ever
think such a thing possible just a decade ago? We have corrupted our sacred
political process by allowing unelected judges to write laws that radically
change our way of life, and then mainstream Marxist groups like ACORN and
others to turn our voting system into a banana republic. To what purpose?

Now our mortgage industry is collapsing, housing prices are in free fall,
major industries are failing, our banking system is on the verge of
collapse, social security is nearly bankrupt, as is Medicare and our entire
government, our education system is worse than a joke (I teach college and
know precisely what I am talking about) the list is staggering in its
length, breadth, and depth. It is potentially 1929 x ten. And we are at war
with an enemy we cannot name for fear of offending people of the same
religion, who cannot wait to slit the throats of your children if they have
the opportunity to do so.

And now we have elected a man no one knows anything about, who has never run
so much as a Dairy Queen, let alone a town as big as Wasilla, Alaska. All of
his associations and alliances are with real radicals in their chosen fields
of employment, and everything we learn about him, drip by drip, is
unsettling if not downright scary. Surely you have heard him speak about his
idea to create and fund a mandatory civilian defense force stronger than our
military for use inside our borders. No? Oh, of course. The media would
never play that for you over and over and then demand he answer it. Sarah
Palin's pregnant daughter and $150,000 wardrobe is more important.

Mr. Obama's winning platform can be boiled down to one word: change.

Why?

I have never been so afraid for my country and for my children as I am now!

This man campaigned on bringing people together, something he has never,
ever done in his professional life. In my assessment, Obama will divide us
along philosophical lines, push us apart, and then try to realign the pieces
into a new and different power structure. Change is indeed coming. And when
it comes, you will never see the same nation again.

And that is only the beginning.

And I thought I would never be able to experience what the ordinary, moral
German felt in the mid-1930s. In those times, the savior was a former
smooth-talking rabble-rouser from the streets, about whom the average German
knew next to nothing. What they did know was that he was associated with
groups that shouted, shoved, and pushed around people with whom they
disagreed; he edged his way onto the political stage through great oratory
and promises. Economic times were tough, people were losing jobs, and he was
a great speaker. And he smiled and waved a lot. And people, even newspapers,
were afraid to speak out for fear that his 'brown shirts' would bully them
into submission. And then, he was duly elected to office, a full-throttled
economic crisis at hand [the Great Depression]. Slowly but surely he seized
the controls of government power, department-by-department,
person-by-person, bureaucracy-by-bureaucracy. The kids joined a Youth
Movement in his name, where they were taught what to think. How did he get
the people on his side? He did it promising jobs to the jobless, money to
the moneyless, and goodies for the military-industrial complex. He did it by
indoctrinating the children, advocating gun control, health care for all,
better wages, better jobs, and promising to re-instill pride once again in
the country, across Europe, and across the world.

He did it with a compliant media. Did you know that? And he did this all in
the name of justice and . . .. change. And the people surely got what they
voted for.

(Look it up if you think I am exaggerating.)

Read your history books. Many people objected in 1933 and were shouted down,
called names, laughed at, and made fun of. When Winston Churchill pointed
out the obvious in the late 1930s while seated in the House of Lords in
England (he was not yet Prime Minister), he was booed into his seat and
called a crazy troublemaker. He was right, though.

Don't forget that Germany was the most educated, cultured country in Europe
.. It was full of music, art, museums, hospitals, laboratories, and
universities. And in less than six years 'a shorter time span than just two
terms of the U.. S. presidency' it was rounding up its own citizens, killing
others, abrogating its laws, turning children against parents, and neighbors
against neighbors. All with the best of intentions, of course. The road to
Hell is paved with them.

As a practical thinker, one not overly prone to emotional decisions, I have
a choice: I can either believe what the objective pieces of evidence tell me
(even if they make me cringe with disgust); I can believe what history is
shouting to me from across the chasm of seven decades; or I can hope I am
wrong by closing my eyes, having another latte, and ignoring what is
transpiring around me.

Some people scoff at me, others laugh, or think I am foolish, naive, or
both. Perhaps I am. But I have never been afraid to look people in the eye
and tell them exactly what I believe, and why I believe it.

I pray I am wrong. I do not think I am.

THIS ECONOMIC CRISIS doesn't have to be a second Great Depression - if government does nearly everything right, and soon. But if government doesn't do more, and fast, this could be worse than the 1930s. Why? Three big reasons:

Finance: A Doomsday Machine. The financial system is in far worse shape than it was when the stock market crashed in October 1929. In the 1920s, there was a stock market bubble, mainly because people could play the market "on margin," borrowing to invest in stocks. There were also scams like the original Mr. Ponzi's. Like in the present decade, the Federal Reserve helped to enable the game, with low interest rates and few rules.

But today, thanks to "securitization" of loans and the ability of insiders to create exotic and unfathomable financial instruments, the speculative system makes buying stocks on margin look like child's play. In the aftermath of the crash of 2008, the process of sorting it all out and getting banks functioning again is something that markets simply cannot do.

We are not even clear who owns what. The wise guys on Wall Street invented a doomsday machine from which there is no market escape.

In 1929 when the stock market crashed, the banking system was relatively healthy. Bank customers played these speculative games and took the losses, not banks. This time, the banks drank their own Kool-aid.

It took until the awful winter of 1932-'33 for the general depression to fully infect the banking system, and cause over 7,000 banks to fail. But Roosevelt's cure - deposit insurance and a temporary bank holiday to sort out good banks from bad - quickly got the financial system up and running again. Today, the banking mess is still dragging down the real economy, with no effective cure in sight.

Wealth, Deficits, and Demand. The economy now bears all the hallmarks of a depression. Between the housing collapse and the stock market crash, American households are out several trillion dollars (in the 1920s, there were no 401(k) plans and less than 2 percent of Americans owned stock).

When people are suddenly out a lot of money, they spend less. Weak demand in one sector is cascading into other sectors. People spend less on autos, air travel, hotels, restaurants, clothing - any optional purchase. Business sales and profits are down, which causes other layoffs, and the cycle deepens.

Roosevelt was said to be a big spender, but his biggest peacetime deficit was only about 6 percent of GDP. This year, the deficit will exceed 11 percent, and the recession will deepen all year. It took the truly massive deficits of World War II - nearly 30 percent of GDP - to finally end the Great Depression

A Debtor Nation. America in 1929 was a major international creditor. Today, we are the world's biggest debtor. The financial bubble created the illusion of prosperity.

During the bubble years, the foreign borrowing disguised domestic weaknesses, such as our much-diminished manufacturing sector. For now, foreigners are still willing to lend us vast sums, but that may not continue indefinitely.

All these economic calamities have solutions, but each is more radical than what's currently on offer. The government will have to temporarily nationalize major banks, sort out good assets from bad ones, and then return banks to responsible private ownership. To cure the housing collapse, government should directly refinance mortgages, rather than bribing banks to ease terms.

Deficits will have to be a lot larger before they can get smaller. That should not require a war; this is just as grave a national emergency. Those deficits could purchase much broader prosperity.

This crisis doesn't yet have a name. It has all the hallmarks of a depression, but people are understandably reluctant to use the D-word. So let me suggest one: The Great Collapse, since this was both a financial collapse and an ideological one.

Can America recover from a Great Collapse? Can we avert a second Great Depression? To coin a phrase, yes we can. But we need the right strategies and we don't have much time.

The Federal Reserve is Bankrupt How Did It Happen and What are the Ugly Consequences?

The Federal Reserve is bankrupt for all intents and purposes. The same goes for the Bank of England!

This article will focus largely on the Fed, because the Fed is the "financial land-mine".

How long can someone who has stepped on a landmine, remain standing – hours, days? Eventually, when he is exhausted and his legs give way, the mine will just explode!

The shadow banking system has not only stepped on the land-mine, it is carrying such a heavy load (trillions of toxic wastes) that sooner or later it will tilt, give way and trigger off the land-mine![1]

In a recent article, I referred to the remarks of British Prime Minister Gordon Brown and President Obama calling for the shadow banking system to be outlawed.

Even if the call was genuine, it is too late. The land-mine has been triggered and the explosion cannot be averted under any circumstances.

The only issue is the extent of the damage to the global economy and how long it will take for the world to recover from this fiasco – a financial madness that has no precedent. The great depression is "Mary Poppins" in comparison!
The idea of a central bank going bankrupt is not that outlandish. I am by no means the first author who has given this stark warning. What underlies this crisis (which I initially examined in an article in December 2006) is the potential collapse of the global banking system, specifically the Shadow Money-Lenders.

Nouriel Roubini, the New York University professor said [2]:
"The process of socialising the private losses from this crisis has moved many of the liabilities of the private sector onto the books of the sovereign. At some point a sovereign bank may crack, in which case, the ability of the government to credibly commit to act as a backstop for the financial system – including deposit guarantees – could come unglued."

Please read the underlined words again. "Sovereign bank" means central bank. When a central bank "cracks" i.e. becomes insolvent, "all hell breaks lose", because as the professor correctly pointed out, "any government guarantees will ring hollow and will be useless".

If a central bank goes belly up, it is as good as the government going bankrupt. Period!
In another article, Roubini admitted that the pressure on "the financial land-mine" is totally unbearable. He wrote: "The US Financial system is effectively insolvent". It follows that if the financial system is bankrupt, it is a matter of time before the "sovereign bank" goes belly up. This is a given!
He stated further that:
"Thus, the U.S. financial system is de facto nationalized, as the Federal Reserve has become the lender of first and only resort rather than the lender of last resort, and the U.S. Treasury is the spender and guarantor of first and only resort. The only issue is whether banks and financial institutions should also be nationalized de jure.

"AIG which lost $62 billion in the fourth quarter and $99 billion in all of 2008 is already 80% government-owned. With such staggering losses, it should be formally 100% government-owned. And now the Fed and Treasury commitments of public resources to the bailout of the shareholders and creditors of AIG have gone from $80 billion to $162 billion.

"Given that common shareholders of AIG are already effectively wiped out (the stock has become a penny stock), the bailout of AIG is a bailout of the creditors of AIG that would now be insolvent without such a bailout. AIG sold over $500 billion of toxic credit default swap protection, and the counter-parties of this toxic insurance are major U.S. broker-dealers and banks.
"News and banks analysts' reports suggested that Goldman Sachs got about $25 billion of the government bailout of AIG and that Merrill Lynch was the second largest benefactor of the government largesse. These are educated guesses, as the government is hiding the counter-party benefactors of the AIG bailout. (Maybe Bloomberg should sue the Fed and Treasury again to have them disclose this information.)

"But some things are known: Goldman's Lloyd Blankfein was the only CEO of a Wall Street firm who was present at the New York Fed meeting when the AIG bailout was discussed. So let us not kid each other: The $162 billion bailout of AIG is a nontransparent, opaque and shady bailout of the AIG counter-parties: Goldman Sachs, Merrill Lynch and other domestic and foreign financial institutions.

"So for the Treasury to hide behind the "systemic risk" excuse to fork out another $30 billion to AIG is a polite way to say that without such a bailout (and another half-dozen government bailout programs such as TAF, TSLF, PDCF, TARP, TALF and a program that allowed $170 billion of additional debt borrowing by banks and other broker-dealers, with a full government guarantee), Goldman Sachs and every other broker-dealer and major U.S. bank would already be fully insolvent today.

"And even with the $2 trillion of government support, most of these financial institutions are insolvent, as delinquency and charge-off rates are now rising at a rate - given the macro outlook -that means expected credit losses for U.S. financial firms will peak at $3.6 trillion. So, in simple words, the U.S. financial system is effectively insolvent."

McClatchy newspaper reported (03/08/2009) bad news affecting the banks:
"America's five largest banks, which already have received $145 billion in taxpayer bailout dollars, still face potentially catastrophic losses from exotic investments if economic conditions substantially worsen, their latest financial reports show.

"Citibank, Bank of America, HSBC Bank USA, Wells Fargo Bank and J.P. Morgan Chase reported that their "current" net loss risks from derivatives — insurance-like bets tied to a loan or other underlying asset — surged to $587 billion as of Dec. 31. Buried in end-of-the-year regulatory reports that McClatchy has reviewed, the figures reflect a jump of 49 percent in just 90 days.

"The disclosures underscore the challenges that the banks face as they struggle to navigate through a deepening recession in which all types of loan defaults are soaring.

"The government has since committed $182 billion to rescue AIG and, indirectly, investors on the other end of the firm's swap contracts. AIG posted a fourth quarter 2008 loss last week of more than $61 billion, the worst quarterly performance in U.S. corporate history.

"The five major banks, which account for more than 95 percent of U.S. banks' trading in this array of complex derivatives, declined to say how much of the AIG bailout money flowed to them to make good on these contracts.

"The banks' quarterly financial reports show that as of Dec. 31:
— J.P. Morgan had potential current derivatives losses of $241.2 billion, outstripping its $144 billion in reserves, and future exposure of $299 billion.
— Citibank had potential current losses of $140.3 billion, exceeding its $108 billion in reserves, and future losses of $161.2 billion.
— Bank of America reported $80.4 billion in current exposure, below its $122.4 billion reserve, but $218 billion in total exposure.
— HSBC Bank USA had current potential losses of $62 billion, more than triple its reserves, and potential total exposure of $95 billion.

— San Francisco-based Wells Fargo, which agreed to take over Charlotte-based Wachovia in October, reported current potential losses totaling nearly $64 billion, below the banks' combined reserves of $104 billion, but total future risks of about $109 billion.

"Kopff, the bank shareholders' expert, said that several of the big banks' risks are so large that they are "dead men walking."

Berkshire Hathaway Chairman, Warren Buffett is so livid by the sheer magnitude of the financial mess that he said:
"These instruments [derivatives] have made it almost impossible for investors to understand and analyze our largest commercial banks and investment banks . When I read the pages of 'disclosure' in (annual reports) of companies that are entangled with these instruments, all I end up knowing is that I don't know what is going on in their portfolios. And then I reach for some aspirin."

The above bad news refers to the losses and potential losses that the big banks have suffered and will suffer in the near future.
But what is overlooked by many financial analysts is that these very same derivative products have caused another financial organ failure. And there is no way that the said organ can be resuscitated to its former state of health.

The Repo Market is gridlocked!
There has been an incestuous relationship between the traditional banking system and the shadow banking system and the link that joined the two together is the Repo Market.[Repurchase Market]
This is in fact the weakest link in the entire financial system.

This is a very technical subject and I seek your indulgence and patience when reading the remaining part of this article. The gridlock of the repo market is the basis for my assertion that over and above the aforesaid dire financial facts, it is the major contributing factor to the bankruptcy of the Federal Reserve!

I want to use a simple analogy. This will make the issue easier to understand.
Picture a one-inch diameter thick rope. Such a rope is made up of a few strands of narrower ropes, say 1/10^th inch which are twined together to make the thick one-inch diameter rope.
Picture again that all the outer strands have been burnt away, and what remains is the middle strand, still lifting the weight. But this strand cannot on its own, lift such a weight and sooner or later, it will snap. When that happens, the weight will come crashing down!
The middle strand is the repo market.

Alternatively, you can use the analogy that the repo market is the heart that pumps the blood (the cash flow). The financial system is the body and it has suffered a massive heart attack!

What is the repo market?
The repo market is the market whereby all financial institutions (regulated and unregulated) invariably go to obtain financing to meet reserve requirements, bridging finance, to lend or purchase securities, to hedge and or to invest on short-term basis.
It used to be that mainly US Treasuries (bear this in mind at all times) were used as security for Repo transactions, as it is considered as most secure i.e. as good as cash since it is backed by the credit of the US government!

This requirement is no longer the case. More of this issue later.

The Nature of Repo Transactions

In repo transactions, securities are exchanged for cash with an agreement to repurchase the securities at a future date. The securities serve as collateral for what is effectively a cash loan. A distinguishing feature of repos is that they can be used either to obtain funds or to obtain securities. As repos are short-maturity collateralized instruments, repo markets have strong linkages with securities markets, derivative markets and other short term markets such as inter-bank and money markets. [3]
Like other financial markets, repo markets are subject to credit risks, operational risks and liquidity risks. However, what distinguishes the credit risks on repos from that associated with uncollateralized instruments is that repos credit exposures arise from volatility (or market risk) in the value of collateral. Bear this in mind at all times.

Repos allow institutions to use leverage to take larger positions in financial markets which could add to systemic risks. Bear this in mind at all times.
And because of the close linkages between repo markets and securities markets, any shocks will be transmitted quickly, resulting in a gridlock. Bear this in mind at all times.
Transactions covered by definition of repos are as follows:

(A) Repurchase Agreement
A repurchase agreement involves the sale of an asset under an agreement to repurchase the asset from the same counter-party. Interest is paid on the repurchase agreement by adjusting the sale and purchase price. A reverse repo is the purchase of an asset with an agreement to re-sell the same or a similar asset.

A hold-in-custody repurchase agreement is a trade whereby the repoer (the borrower of cash) continues to hold the collateralizing securities in custody for the lender of cash. The risks are obvious!

A deliver-out repurchase agreement is where securities are delivered to the cash lender for custody in exchange for cash.
A tri-party repurchase agreement is similar to a deliver-out repurchase agreement, except that the security is placed in the custody of a third-party entity. The third-party ensures that the security meets the cash lender’s requirements and provides valuation and margining services. This is the primary form of repurchase agreement for securities dealers in the United States. Bank of New York and JP Morgan Chase are the two main custodians or clearing banks in the US and supervise the vast majority of the tri-party repos. Bear this in mind at all times.

(B) Sell/Buy-Back Agreement

A sell buy-back is two distinct outright cash market trades, one for forward settlement. The forward price is set relative to the spot price to yield a market rate of return.

(C) Securities Lending

This is where the owner of the security lends them to another person in return for a fee. The borrower of the security is contractually obliged to redeliver a like quantity of the same securities, or return precisely the same securities.

Repos can be of any duration but are most commonly over-night loans. Repos longer than over-night are called Term Repos. There are also Open Repos which are transactions which can be terminated by both parties on a day’s notice.
The largest players of repos and reverses are the dealers in government securities. There are about 20 primary dealers recognised by the Fed which are authorised to bid for new-issued treasury securities for resale in the market. The dealers are highly leveraged, 50 to 100 times their own capital. To finance the purchase of treasury securities, the dealers need to have repo monies in large amounts on a continuing basis. The institutions that supply such huge funds in the repo market are money funds, large corporations, state and local governments and foreign central banks.

The Repo Market and the Financial Crisis

As stated earlier when the repo market first started, US treasuries were the preferred security. But when financial engineering exploded and many financial products (i.e. CDOs) were rated AAA by rating agencies, these securities were also traded as described above in the repo market. This was when problems started.
According to Gary Gorton [4], the repo market before the crisis was estimated to be worth a whopping $12 trillion as compared to the total assets in the entire US banking system of $10 trillion.

The former CEO of Federal Reserve Bank of New York (NYFRB) and now the US Treasury Secretary, Tim Geithner observed in 2008:

"The structure of the financial system changed fundamentally during the boom, with dramatic growth in the share of assets outside the traditional banking system. This non-bank financial system grew to be very large, particularly in money and funding markets.

"This parallel system financed some of these very assets on a very short term basis in the bilateral or tri-party repo markets. As the volume of activity in repo markets grew, the variety of assets financed in this manner expanded beyond the most highly liquid securities to include less liquid securities, as well. Nonetheless, these assets were assumed to be readily sellable at fair values, in part because assets with similar credit ratings had generally been tradable during past periods of financial stress. And the liquidity supporting them was assumed to be continuous and essentially frictionless, because it had been so for a long time.

"The scale of long term risky and relatively illiquid assets financed by very short-term liabilities made many of the vehicles and institutions in this parallel financial system vulnerable to a classic type run, but without the protection such as deposit insurance that the banking system has in place to reduce such risks."
Economic historians will argue for another century as to the cause for the run on the repo market. The collapse of Bear Stearns is as good a starting point as any. When the market discovered that its securities were duds, pure junk, shock waves ripped through the system.

Recall that I had mentioned earlier that Federal Bank of New York and JP Morgan Chase were the primary clearing banks for repos.
The Fed’s rescue of Bear Stearns through JP Morgan was not so much to save the former but rather to shore up the "clearing system" of the repos for which JP Morgan Chase and the Bank of New York were the main pillars. One of the functions of a "clearing bank" for repos is to value and match securities tendered for cash borrowings. If Bear Stearns securities are now valued as junks, the integrity of JP Morgan and Federal Bank of New York as clearing banks in this market is as good as zero! And bearing in mind that the five major investment banks in the US rely heavily on the repo market for their funding, any gridlock in this part of the shadow banking system would tear wide open the entire banking system, including the traditional counter-part.

Hence, the FED intervention by the creation of the Primary Dealer Credit Facility (PDCF) which was in effect the backstop for all investment banking using tri-party repos!
This was what Bernanke said:
"We have been working with market participants to develop a contingency plan should there ever occur a loss of confidence in either of the two clearing banks that facilitate the settlement of tri-party repos."
Louis Crandall, economist at Wrightson ICAP observed:
"The vulnerability of the tri-party repo system has been a recurring theme among Federal Reserve and Treasury officials in recent weeks."

The inherent weakness of tri-party repos is that the counter-party risks of billions worth of funding agreements are shouldered by essentially two players – Federal Bank of New York and JP Morgan Chase.
Yet, way back then, they were held up as rock solid. It is almost hilarious to read the then advert of the Federal Bank of New York as to their expertise and service:

"Sophisticated collateral selection: enforce diversification and credit quality; control adequacy, volatility & liquidity.
"Cutting edge infrastructure: economies of scale facilitate extensive data warehousing, access to more asset classes and markets, auto-substitution, auto-allocation & optimisation technology, same day reporting.
"Introduction to new counterparts: A Global Collateral Clearing House."
Panic swept across the entire repo market.
No securities were considered safe enough for repos except US treasuries.
Fundings in the repo market grind to a halt.
Market players withdrew funds and began hoarding treasuries.

The rest who own structured products were slaughtered.
I would like to quote Gary Gorton again:
"Imagine a firm that is levered 30:1, by borrowing in the repo market. If the haircut [5] doubles, or goes from zero to a positive amount, the required deleveraging is massive! Most investment banks were levered 30:1, equivalent to about a 3 per cent haircut. If the haircut rises to 6 per cent, at least half the assets will have to be sold.

"Another sign of trouble is a ‘repo fail’. A ‘repo fail’ occurs when one side of the agreement fails to abide by the contract. [Fail to deliver the security under the repurchase agreement.]
"Dealer banks would not accept collateral because they rightly believed that if they had to seize the collateral should the counter-party fail, then there would be no market in which to sell it. This was due to the absence of buyers because of the deleveraging. This led to an absence of prices for these securities. If the value cannot be determined because there is no market – no liquidity or there is the concern that if the asset is seized by the lender, it will not be saleable at all, then the dealer will not engage in repo. Repo dealers report that there was uncertainty about whether to believe the ratings on these structured products, and in a very fast moving environment, the response was to pull back from accepting anything structured. If no one would accept structured products for repo, then these bonds could not be traded – and then no one would want to accept them in repo transactions."

This change led to a sharp increase in the demand for government securities for repo transactions, which was compounded by significantly higher safe-haven demand for US Treasuries and the increased unwillingness to lend such securities in repo transactions. As the crisis unfolded, this combination resulted in US government collateral becoming extremely scarce. [6]
I will now turn to the issue of the FED’s solvency.
As has been observed, the Fed intervened aggressively to check the run on the repo market. Various measures were taken, but in my view the most dangerous was the widening of the collaterals which the Fed was willing to accept to secure funding of the players in the repo market. The Fed also intervened by lending a huge chunk of its US treasuries in exchange for junks to facilitate credit expansion.
In the result, what happened was that the Fed’s present balance sheet of approximately $2 trillion is made up mostly of junk securities.

The Fed is no different from banks in that confidence in the quality of its assets is critical and that if and when the market recovers, there is in fact a market for the junk assets that it took on to unravel the gridlock in the financial markets.

By way of analogy, if your high street bank’s balance sheet is made up of junk, what would you do? There are just not enough assets to meet its liabilities.
But of course, one can argue that the Fed is not your high street bank. It is the central bank of the mighty USA. It will always be able to "print money" or "digitalise" money and keep the markets going.
But beware that the Federal Reserve Note is mere paper, fiat money which cannot be redeemed for anything tangible such as gold. And although it is stated boldly in the notes issued - "In God we trust" - you and I are not actually placing our trust in God when accepting the Federal Reserve Notes as "money".

When Joe Six-Packs realises that the Federal Reserve Note is not even secured by US treasuries and or the FED has real tangible assets, but its balance sheet is littered with junks and toxic waste, there will be a run on the Fed i.e. when Americans and foreigners no longer have faith in the Federal Reserve Notes as "money".
If confidence could vaporise in a second and cause a stampede in what was once considered solid security, the triple A rated bonds in the repo and money markets, the same confidence that is now reposed in the Federal Reserve Notes can likewise disappear into the memory hole.

All these years, the con was maintained by the Fed that it was solid because it has on its balance sheet over $800 billion of US treasuries i.e. its notes "were so-called backed by these treasuries". It could sell its treasuries in the repo market for cash and thereby control the money flows in the economy and vice versa.

In their subconscious mind, Americans and stupid foreign central banks and their executives (brain-washed by the Chicago School of Economics) somehow believe in the infallibility of the Fed.

Now it has been exposed that the Fed’s "assets" comprise of junk bonds and toxic wastes.
The Emperor has no clothes!
Paul Volcker, former Chairman of the Federal Reserve may have given the ultimate epitaph: "The bright new financial system – for all its talented participants, for all its rich rewards – has failed the test of the market place."
And it is any wonder that Professor Nouriel Roubini declared:
"The process of socialising the private losses from this crisis has already moved many liabilities of the private sector onto the books of the sovereign. At some point a sovereign bank may crack, in which case the ability of the government to credibly commit to act as a backstop for the financial system – including deposit guarantees – could come unglued."

In my opinion, the Fed has already become "unglued". Whatever guarantees given to secure the indebtedness of CitiGroup and others to prevent a run on these banks are useless.

It is bankrupt!

Recently I felt compelled to send out an URGENT message warning of an impending great calamity — such that will cause even God’s elect to tremble. (Posted below)

One Bishop asked, “Is there no further word: How should the righteous respond to such a word?”

I can only answer by sharing what the Holy Spirit is speaking to my own heart and what I am to do. I shared that I was led in a practical way to lay aside a month’s supply of food — because I have witnessed the panic in the wake of terrorism. That has to be a personal word for every individual.

This is what I hear the Holy Spirit speaking to my heart concerning my own spiritual response to impending calamity. It is simply this —STAND STILL AND SEE THE SALVATION OF THE LORD.

“And Moses said to the people, Fear ye not, stand still, and see the salvation of the Lord, which he will show you today…The Lord shall fight for you, and you shall hold your peace” (Exodus 14:13-14).

This is the attitude of faith in the face of calamity. What could Israel do on the brink of the Red Sea? Pharaoh’s army is pressing in, mountains are on both sides, and there is an impossible sea ahead. The flesh cries, “Do something!”

The flesh cries hopelessness. Can God’s people dry up the sea? Level a mountain? Fight a great army without having weapons? They are in what appears to be a dreadful, frightening situation. God’s people tremble — and in this hour of trembling comes a word from God. In essence:

“Stand still. Fear not. This is the hour of salvation. You are going to witness the pulling down of the foundations of a world power. But in the same hour, I will fight for you. Hold your peace — be still and see my works.”

Beloved, my warning is just one voice among many who are saying the same thing. We may all tremble for a season, but those who truly know God’s Word will be quickly comforted by the Holy Spirit. We will be baptized with a great peace — a supernatural quietness — which will be a tremendous witness to the fearful multitudes.

AN URGENT MESSAGE

I am compelled by the Holy Spirit to send out an urgent message to all on our mailing list, and to friends and to bishops we have met all over the world.

AN EARTH-SHATTERING CALAMITY IS ABOUT TO HAPPEN. IT IS GOING TO BE SO FRIGHTENING, WE ARE ALL GOING TO TREMBLE - EVEN THE GODLIEST AMONG US.

For ten years I have been warning about a thousand fires coming to New York City. It will engulf the whole megaplex, including areas of New Jersey and Connecticut. Major cities all across America will experience riots and blazing fires—such as we saw in Watts, Los Angeles, years ago.

There will be riots and fires in cities worldwide. There will be looting—including Times Square, New York City. What we are experiencing now is not a recession, not even a depression. We are under God’s wrath. In Psalm 11 it is written,

“If the foundations are destroyed, what can the righteous do?” (v. 3).

God is judging the raging sins of America and the nations. He is destroying the secular foundations.

The prophet Jeremiah pleaded with wicked Israel, “God is fashioning a calamity against you and devising a plan against you. Oh, turn back each of you from your evil way, and reform your ways and deeds. But they will say, It’s hopeless! For we are going to follow our own plans, and each of us will act according to the stubbornness of his evil heart” (Jeremiah 18:11-12).

In Psalm 11:6, David warns, “Upon the wicked he will rain snares (coals of fire)…fire…burning wind…will be the portion of their cup.” Why? David answered, “Because the Lord is righteous” (v. 7). This is a righteous judgment—just as in the judgments of Sodom and in Noah’s generation.

WHAT SHALL THE RIGHTEOUS DO? WHAT ABOUT GOD’S PEOPLE?

First, I give you a practical word I received for my own direction. If possible lay in store a thirty-day supply of non-perishable food, toiletries and other essentials. In major cities, grocery stores are emptied in an hour at the sign of an impending disaster.

As for our spiritual reaction, we have but two options. This is outlined in Psalm 11. We “flee like a bird to a mountain.” Or, as David says, “He fixed his eyes on the Lord on his throne in heaven—his eyes beholding, his eyelids testing the sons of men” (v. 4). “In the Lord I take refuge” (v. 1).

I will say to my soul: No need to run...no need to hide. This is God’s righteous work. I will behold our Lord on his throne, with his eye of tender, loving kindness watching over every step I take—trusting that he will deliver his people even through floods, fires, calamities, tests, trials of all kinds.

Note: I do not know when these things will come to pass, but I know it is not far off. I have unburdened my soul to you. Do with the message as you choose.

Civil Unrest in America?

Eurasia is currently experiencing serious problems derived from financial and economic difficulties such as unemployment, GDP negative growth, currency depreciation, overall economic slowdown and so on. Several members of both the European Union and NATO (Poland, Hungary, Iceland come to mind) are already dealing with a considerable deal of domestic discontent. Some States from the Former Soviet Union (notably Ukraine, Belarus and the Central Asian Republics) and even Russia itself are facing similar problems. Even Chinese government officials acknowledge protests in the Chinese mainland, just like Professor Michael Klare points out, which means that East Asia is by no means an exception. As we shall see, financial and economic conditions are equally grave in the American hemisphere, if not more so.

Zbigniew Brzezinski, former National Security Advisor and early supporter of Barack Obama's presidential campaign, has warned that civil unrest on American soil is a possibility that should not be dismissed. Brzezinski explains that "[the United States is] going to have millions and millions of unemployed, people really facing dire straits. And we’re going to be having that for some period of time before things hopefully improve. And at the same time there is public awareness of this extraordinary wealth that was transferred to a few individuals at levels without historical precedent in America..." Brzezinski concludes with this noteworthy remark "...hell, there could be even riots".

The aforementioned means that the upper echelons of the American political elite have realized that the current financial and economic turmoil is not as bad as many experts had foreseen, they are well aware that it is actually much worse and that things could really spiral out of control if the present situation deteriorates even further. Indeed, optimistic signs are nowhere to be found. Quite the contrary.

The full magnitude of the financial tsunami is clearly reflected in a piece written by Barry Ritholtz, who states that the bailout plan promoted by former US Secretary of the Treasury Henry "Hank" Paulson amounts to a sum of money that is superior to the Louisiana Purchase, the New Deal, the Marshall Plan, the Apollo Lunar Project, the Korean War, the Vietnam War, the invasion of Iraq and other large government expenditures - combined (!). This illustrates that America's top policymakers (both Democratic and Republican) hold serious concerns about the health of the American financial system and the American economy.

Lehman Brothers' bankruptcy (the largest in American history) was merely the tip of the iceberg and economic and financial conditions have dramatically worsened ever since. On January 22 2009, the Christian Science Monitor published that the four largest U.S. banks "have lost half of their value since January 2." Moreover, in the period from summer 2008 to March 2009, the Dow Jones Industrial Average index has decreased more than 50%. Furthermore, during February 2009 alone, more than 651 000 jobs were lost in the US, whose unemployment rate has now reached 8.1 %, the highest in 26 years. Also, some US car manufacturers (such as Ford, General Motors and Chrysler), once the pride of America's industry, are practically on life support.

Steve Lohr, from the New York Times, writes that "Some of the large banks in the United States, according to economists and other finance experts, are like dead men walking." Indeed, there were only two investment banks left: Morgan Stanley and Goldman Sachs and their condition is not exactly solid because they have managed to survive by becoming ordinary commercial banks. The Guardian reproduces an assessment by Bill Isaac, an experienced financial expert; he claims that the transformation of both Morgan Stanley and Goldman Sachs is "a shame because this country [the US] was built, in part, on risk-taking by Goldman and Morgan and by a whole bunch of firms before them." Karl West, from the Daily Mail mentions that financial specialists warn that mammoth bank Citigroup "could collapse".

All of the above indicates that the much-feared financial meltdown is no longer a distant and remote possibility because in fact it is already taking place. However, this chaos might trigger some very serious and preoccupying consequences. In order to have a clear understanding of these implications, it is vital to take into account some reports that were not given the proper amount of attention they deserved when they were first published.

Professor Michel Chossudovsky observed that the US Army 3rd Infantry's 1st Brigade Combat Team returned from Iraq some months ago. That information is extremely disturbing because such military unit "may be called upon to help with civil unrest and crowd control", according to official sources. Now, what scenario could possibly require the operational deployment of said units on American soil? Professor Chossudovsky puts forward an intriguing hypothesis that must be borne in mind. He argues that "Civil unrest resulting from from the financial meltdown is a distinct possibility, given the broad impacts of financial collapse on lifelong savings, pension funds, homeownership, etc".

Shortly afterwards, the Centre for Research on Globalization website posted an article written by Wayne Madsen. Mr. Madsen claims that a highly confidential official report has been circulating among senior members of the US Congress and their top advisors. The report has been allegedly nicknamed as the "C & R document". The author stipulates that those letters stand for none other than "conflict" and "revolution" because those scenarios are supposedly regarded by America's policymakers as plausible consequences triggered by a financial meltdown. According to Mr. Madsen, the content of the document reveals that severe financial chaos could spark a major war if Washington refuses to honor its foreign debt and/or massive riots in US cities if the American population does not accept a considerable tax increase.

For decades, overall political stability in the US was taken for granted. However, as it has been pointed out, even senior American statesmen are taking into consideration that financial volatility could fuel a wave of discontent which could easily reach troubling proportions. It seems that America itself is not immune from "regime-threatening instability" as the Pentagon and the American intelligence community terms it. It is likely that American government officials have not dismissed the worst-case scenario. Indeed it looks like they have been preparing accordingly.

Therefore, as has been scrutinized here, once one proceeds to connect the dots a very dark picture begins to emerge, to say the least. An all-encompassing cloud of uncertainty prevents us from formulating an accurate forecast regarding what developments will occur and how they will unfold during the next few months, let alone years. The only thing that can be taken for granted and that one can be sure of is that the unthinkable has now become thinkable.

The Groundwork Has Already Been Laid for Martial Law

During his two terms in office, George W. Bush stepped outside the boundaries of the Constitution and assembled an amazing toolbox of powers that greatly increased the authority of the Executive branch and the reach of the federal government.

Bush expanded presidential power to, among other things, allow government agents to secretly open the private mail of American citizens; authorize government agents to secretly, and illegally, listen in on the phone calls of American citizens and read our e-mails; assume control of the federal government following a "catastrophic event"; and declare martial law.

Thus, the groundwork was laid for an imperial presidency and a potentially totalitarian government--a state of affairs that has not ended with Barack Obama's ascension to the Oval Office, despite hopes to the contrary that President Obama would fully restore the balance between government and its citizens to a pre-Bush status quo. As Charlie Savage reports in the New York Times, "Signs suggest that the administration's changes may turn out to be less sweeping than many had hoped or feared--prompting growing worry among civil liberties groups and a sense of vindication among supporters of Bush-era policies."

The fact is that the problem is bigger than Obama or any individual who occupies the White House. Indeed, once the government assumes expansive powers and crosses certain constitutional lines, it's almost impossible to pull back.

Just consider some of the lines that have already been crossed.

The local police have, in many regards, already evolved into de facto extensions of the military. Dressed like Darth Vader look-alikes, the police have opted for the SWAT-team dress formally adopted by the federal agencies. Congressional legislation allows the U.S. military, by way of the Pentagon, to train civilian police. The Pentagon has also provided local police with military equipment such as M-16 rifles, bayonets, boats, vehicles, surveillance equipment, chemical suits and flak jackets, among other items. Thus, they are armed to the teeth.

We already have a federal police force comprised of Secret Service agents who are authorized to "carry firearms; make arrests without a warrant for any offense against the United States committed in their presence." A recent incident demonstrates the increased and immediate involvement of federal agents in local matters with the assistance of local police. Chip Harrison, a construction worker in Oklahoma, was pulled over by local police because of an anti-Obama sign proclaiming "Abort Obama, not the unborn" in his pickup truck window. The sign was confiscated by local police, and Harrison was informed that the sign could be considered a threat to the president. The local police contacted the Secret Service, who, within a matter of hours, came to Harrison's home and investigated the matter. So much for the freedom of expression.

According to the Army Times, we now have at least 20,000 U.S. military troops deployed within our borders to "help with civil unrest and crowd control or to deal with potentially horrific scenarios such as massive poisoning and chaos in response to a chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear or high-yield explosive, or CBRNE, attack." I am not alone in believing that we are just one incident--be it a terrorist attack, a major financial blowout or a widespread natural disaster--away from martial law being declared in this country. And once that happens, the Constitution and Bill of Rights will be suspended and what government officials believe and do, no matter how arbitrary, will become law.

Our methods of communication are already being monitored--and, in some instances, shut down, abetted by the telecommunications giants, which act as extensions of the government. Thus, not only does the government have the ability to open and read our mail, it can also listen in on our phone calls and jam our cell phone calls. As the Washington Post reports, federal authorities already have the ability to jam cell phones and other wireless devices. Unbeknownst to the nearly two million people who attended the Obama Inauguration festivities, federal authorities jammed cell phone signals at specific locations. Such disruptions simply appear to be a dropped call or lost signal. Of course, such jamming could be conducted on a more extensive basis nationwide. This would prevent citizens from being able to communicate with one another or make appeals to their government representatives. Although jamming is technically illegal for state and local agencies, Sen. Joe Lieberman (I-Conn.) plans to introduce legislation to allow local police to "selectively" jam cell phones.

We already live in a surveillance state. There was a time when people could flee when the government got out of control. Now, with our every movement monitored by cameras on sidewalks, streets, ATMs, and in shops, offices, schools and parks, there truly is nowhere to hide. Moreover, equipped with high-powered satellites and massive databases, the government can track us using our cell phones, cars, credit cards, driver's licenses and passports.

For those who have been paying attention, such as former war correspondent Chris Hedges in his Truthdig article, "Bad News From America's Top Spy," it's clear that the groundwork for a seamless transition into martial law under a totalitarian state of government has been laid. And local law enforcement, which has already been serving as a de facto military force, will be the key to maintaining martial law under a police state. Given the interconnectedness of our federal, state and local agencies, you can be sure that all of this will happen quickly.

All that is needed is another threat to national security--a so-called "catastrophic event." Under the Bush administration, the danger was terrorism. Under the Obama administration, the economy is being posed as the greatest threat to national security.

This danger was made clear in a U.S. Army War College report issued last fall. As Hedges reports, "The military must be prepared, the document warned, for a 'violent, strategic dislocation inside the United States,' which could be provoked by 'unforeseen economic collapse,' 'purposeful domestic resistance,' 'pervasive public health emergencies' or 'loss of functioning political and legal order.' The 'widespread civil violence,' the document said, 'would force the defense establishment to reorient priorities in extremis to defend basic domestic order and human security.'"

What does all this mean for you and me, the average citizen? When and if martial law is declared, freedom, as we have known it, will be obsolete. And don't expect much in the way of warning or help from the corporate media. As the war in Iraq showed, they are all too willing to be co-opted by the military for the sake of access and ratings. And there will be many Americans who won't know what's happening. They'll be too busy watching the latest entertainment spectacle and trying to guess the next American Idol.

Thankfully, we have not yet reached the point of no hope. But it must be acknowledged that the average American simply does not have the ability to withstand a totalitarian government.

Right now, all we can do is sound the alarm. Become educated. Form local citizens groups in your community. Educate your neighbors on their rights and inform them about the grave possibilities we face in the event of a government-declared emergency. Keep in almost near-constant contact with your representatives in Congress and voice your discontent. Most of all, stay informed and exercise your right to redress your grievances with the government while you still can.

As abolitionist Wendell Phillips once proclaimed:

Eternal vigilance is the price of liberty--power is ever stealing from the many to the few.... The hand entrusted with power becomes ... the necessary enemy of the people. Only by continual oversight can the democrat in office be prevented from hardening into a despot.

Homeland Security Enlists Clergy to Quell Public Unrest if Martial Law Ever Declared

Could martial law ever become a reality in America? Some fear any nuclear, biological or chemical attack on U.S. soil might trigger just that. KSLA News 12 has discovered that the clergy would help the government with potentially their biggest problem: Us.
Charleton Heston's now-famous speech before the National Rifle Association at a convention back in 2000 will forever be remembered as a stirring moment for all 2nd Amendment advocates. At the end of his remarks, Heston held up his antique rifle and told the crowd in his Moses-like voice, "over my cold, dead hands."
While Heston, then serving as the NRA President, made those remarks in response to calls for more gun control laws at the time, those words live on. Heston's declaration captured a truly American value: An over-arching desire to protect our freedoms.
But gun confiscation is exactly what happened during the state of emergency following Hurricane Katrina in New Orleans, along with forced relocation. U.S. Troops also arrived, something far easier to do now, thanks to last year's elimination of the 1878 Posse Comitatus act, which had forbid regular U.S. Army troops from policing on American soil.
If martial law were enacted here at home, like depicted in the movie "The Siege", easing public fears and quelling dissent would be critical. And that's exactly what the 'Clergy Response Team' helped accomplish in the wake of Katrina.
Dr. Durell Tuberville serves as chaplain for the Shreveport Fire Department and the Caddo Sheriff's Office. Tuberville said of the clergy team's mission, "the primary thing that we say to anybody is, 'let's cooperate and get this thing over with and then we'll settle the differences once the crisis is over.'"
Such clergy response teams would walk a tight-rope during martial law between the demands of the government on the one side, versus the wishes of the public on the other. "In a lot of cases, these clergy would already be known in the neighborhoods in which they're helping to diffuse that situation," assured Sandy Davis. He serves as the director of the Caddo-Bossier Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness.
For the clergy team, one of the biggest tools that they will have in helping calm the public down or to obey the law is the bible itself, specifically Romans 13. Dr. Tuberville elaborated, "because the government's established by the Lord, you know. And, that's what we believe in the Christian faith. That's what's stated in the scripture."
Civil rights advocates believe the amount of public cooperation during such a time of unrest may ultimately depend on how long they expect a suspension of rights might last.

THESE ARE THE DARKEST DAYS FOR AMERICA: There has never been a time in the History of the United States that this nation has been so vulnerable. Due to a great falling away from God within the judiciary system America has opened the door to powers so dark that a gross blindness has descended upon the minds of the population. Because of this gross darkness, false prophets, false shepherds, false teachers and a false Gospel have been promoted within the churches causing many to fall away from the true Spirit of Jesus Christ. The darkness has been so complete that the people have not recognized the false security behind which they are standing. You see, in the Book of Ezekiel the Prophet said that the false prophets had built a wall, but they built it withy untempered mortar. This say’s that the wall which was built was only a façade! A wall in Scripture represents SALVATION! People feel safe when a storm or an enemy comes against them and they are protected by the wall. However, God said that the wall the false prophets erected was not strong enough to stand against the fury that would blow against it. In a prophetic sense this is exactly what we saw during Katrina. The wall could not stand against the high winds. Now, according to Ezekiel’s words, God said that HE was going to blow against the wall and cause it to crash to the ground! Imagine the scene; Millions of people taking shelter behind this false security suddenly realize that there wall has been blown to the ground. Then God said that he was going to send HIS sword through the land. Well this is exactly what Jeremiah was telling the people of His day. All the facades are coming down as well as all the false words of peace and safety. Indeed these are dark days and one must be operating in the Spirit of truth in order to see their way through these times. But an idolatrous and apostate people cannot see due to the delusion that has been sent upon them.

WELL INTENDED REFORMS CANNOT STEM THE TIDE OF APOSTASY: With all the political maneuvering and signing of bills such as Anti Abortion bills and Anti Homosexual Marriage Bills there is still the chilling reality that political maneuverings cannot stop Divine Justice. All the attempts at reform in the political arena cannot produce the reforms necessary to change the human heart. There are many good people in America, many sincere advocates of life and a culture of life, yet, due to the darkness and the crimes that have already been committed; i.e. fifty million murdered babies, the advancement of the Gay and Lesbian agenda, the corruption within party leaders and the like the tide cannot be stemmed. Political and social movements and changes cannot avert the righteous judgment of God. It has been said that the pathway to hell is paved with good intentions. Not until the leaders of America have enough respect for God and His laws, and call the population of America to repentance can there ever be the hope of a true salvation from the invading forces. Yet I can honestly say that the line has already been crossed and America has passed the point of no return.

THE PEOPLE ARE WALLOWING IN THIS APOSTASY THROUGH THEIR IDOLATRY: If ever there has been an apostate reality within our borders it is now! Apostasy, according to Scripture begins with a slight drift from the right path. That slight drift often leads to far away places. The church in America has become the scriptural LAODECIAN CHURCH. This is the Lukewarm Church! This is the church that was increased with goods, had need of nothing and to its own delusion thought was A-OKAY! The apostasy we are witnessing today can be seen in over 90% of what we call Christian Churches. We see it in many ways but the one very revealing way is this; we have buildings with great cathedrals or huge auditoriums, with grand stages and massive choirs. We hear the sounds of the most wonderful music through professional musicians along with great lighting and special effects, but we do not see the power of God in those places! We have professional, well defined and very refined speakers who call themselves Pastors serving us a scrumptious message for the itching ears that crowd within their doors every week. It does not matter that Billy and betty were out Friday night fornicating in the backseat of their car, because Sunday will come and all the facades will gear towards Billy and betty shedding a few tears in mournful repentance only to repeat their actions the following Friday night. Our churches big and small are filled with fornicators, adulterers, masturbators, homosexuals, lesbians, alcoholics and drug addicts. Few of these people are repenting and fewer are experiencing glorious changes in their lives. All of this wallowing in Apostasy is due to the Idolatry that exists within the lives of the multitudes of professing Christians in America. For example, Ted Haggard who claimed to be a Christian has been found out to be a homosexual with an appetite for Crystal Meth Amphetamine. Now I am not here to condemn Ted Haggard, but I will judge what has happened, just as I have been instructed to do according to 1Corinthinas chapter Five where the Apostle Paul tells us that WE ARE TO JUDGE THEM WITHIN! Now listen, Ted Haggard is not a Born Again, Spirit Filled Christian with a regenerated new nature. He may have some knowledge and information through Bible reading and may be very good at teaching what the Bible say’s but he is not a Biblical Christian, and many many of professors of Christianity are just like him. Never do we find an Apostle who received the Holy Spirit in the upper room falling to the gross sins that are being committed today. This is why an elected Muslim in Minnesota would resist placing his hand on a Bible during his swearing in ceremony. This Muslim, in his own way recognizes that the so called Christians he has met are far from being what the Jesus of the bible called them to be. He sees so called Christian leaders doing things that would make many in the world blush! Let’s move on to number four……

The Apostle Peter who had the Spirit of God in him asked a few questions and because of their lying these two people died. Where is that Holiness in the church today? A simple lie caused death, there is much more than this happening in churches everywhere today. What changed? I’ll tell you. What is called the church is nothing but a counterfeit, a woman posing as the church but who is actually the Harlot of Revelation Chapter seventeen. This woman is found riding a Beast. The beast of course is the One World Government. The Beast and the whore are riding through the land together. Ladies and Gentlemen, let it be known that what we have commonly called Christianity and the Church is a HARLOT! She is adorned with outward beauty but within is full of death, corruption and decay! We must wake up so that we can be free! You see, what happened to Annainas and Sapphira two thousand years ago is still taking place today in the TRUE CHURCH! Wherever the Holiness of God truly is there will be an atmosphere of the Holiness and the Fear of the Lord! You will not find preachers comforting the sinners in Zion. Why do you think that Bible says that they are at EASE IN ZION? Because the false prophets, shepherds and teachers have created that environment. There should be in the house of God a major discomfort for sinners until conviction breaks their hardened hearts and confession and repentance rings from deep within their beings! We have perverted the true worship for a bowl of lentil soup just as Esau did. We have exchanged our sonship rights and our true inheritance for that which is temporary. We have lost sight of what it means to worship God in Spirit and truth by picking up our crosses on a daily basis and living a crucified life. We have lost the overcoming surge that was once so alive in many believers’ hearts, a desire to be victorious and more than conquerors in the world in which we live. We have forgotten the exhortation of James when he said to be a friend of the world is to be the enemy of God. Well I declare today a revolution against the world system and the harlot church that has masqueraded herself to the shame of the Living and true Christ. I declare fire upon the Harlot, so that the true Church, the glorious Church may emerge and take her rightful place in the power and authority of the Kingdom and Spirit of God!

THE PEOPLE REFUSE TO REPENT OR EVEN HEAR GODS MESSAGE: This no doubt is the true state of things. I am sure that many would rage against this message. Why? Because people today do not want to hear the truth, because the truth would cause them to put away their idols and change their lives. People are mesmerized by television and entertainment and they feel they would have to give it all up! Many in the Harlot system have been captivated by a feel good Gospel They are no different than the people of Ezekiel’s day who loved to be entertained. That is the order of the Harlot church today; ENTERTAINMENT! If it makes me feel good I’ll keep going, but the first time I get ruffled by some dooms day preacher I’m out of here! This is the general attitude of many and yet another pervading attitude exists within the walls of the Harlot. They love to hear your messages said the prophet Ezekiel, for they seem to be listening to a beautiful song, BUT THEY WILL NOT DO WHAT YOU SAY! This is the amazing thing about the Harlot, she loves the penetration of a hardcore message but she knows in hear heart she will never do what is said. This is the deception that is blinding minds everywhere, and this is one of the reasons that so few men are in the truly Godly gatherings of the Holy saints of God. They have been seduced by the great whore and are in bed with her until this day! Soon however, sickness and death will strike the bed of the Harlot and all that are in bed with her shall die and their children will be burned in the fire! People today do not want to hear the message of God so they will experience His wrath! And although the false prophets have taught a false security that the people will not know Gods wrath, they will be the very subjects of it!

Offences come and offences go. Everywhere here and there offences occur between men, women, children, and businesses and among societies in general. Jesus Himself declared, ”it is impossible but that offences will come: but woe [unto him], through whom they come!”

(Luke 17:1).

We in the United States live in a “sue happy culture”. Lawsuits are engendered for the slightest injustice or quite often-frivolous causes. This is evidence against a hypocritical nation…a people who are wise to do evil but are ignorant about doing good.

Many take legal action for the slightest reason even for an unfitting spoken opinion. Others take matters in their own hands outside the law and execute an ‘eye for an eye’ with violence. Even for the minutest error of an other such as a ding being caused in their car door in the parking lot. ‘Boy, look out, don’t hurt my car’, people passionately feel in their heart.

People love to side with causes. But far too often people lose sight of proper judgment of what is right and what is wrong. Many times the masses improperly access who is in the wrong and who is properly offended. Often, groups side with the perpetrator and champion his cause ignoring the hardship and injustice for the victims of self-seeking crime.

In the midst of all this hypocrisy and shallow morality stands One who is rightfully wronged and seeks justice. It is God Himself. God is offended! Why? Because the basic common respect that is due a great and awesome Person, the LORD Almighty, has been transgressed—Repeatedly. Over and over and over again. God who is good, gives good, shows good endlessly is shown such contempt by hard-hearted humanity. God is slow to anger. He is gracious and of great mercy. But, as seen in Scripture, the line can be crossed where God determines His grace is despised and He decides to deal with the impudence of disrespect. God is a “father”, where is His honor; God is a “master”, where is His fear? (Malachi 1:6)

The figurative line that is drawn has been crossed many times throughout biblical history. The catastrophic flood of Noah, the demise of Sodom and Gomorrah by brimstone and flaming fire, the repeated dealings with Israel and Judah are such examples of God’s hand of judgment displayed by great measures of fury.

God’s judgment is always fair. His judgment is always due and proper. God has no pleasure that humanity endure the heat of His fury. But, God only takes such drastic measures upon rude disobedience after His seeming endless pleas for repentance fall on endless rejecting ears. Hard hearts, hard heads, stiff necks, adamant faces of stubborn selfishness will always find the hand of God pressing firmly to lead to repentance, or, if not heeded, death is delivered to the disobedient. Always. God does not change. We have these biblical examples recorded for our learning.

There is a repeated scenario recorded in the scripture. God Who is good and kind blesses a people with good and plenty. He gives them crops and sends rain to make them flourish. He gives bread and oil for the joy of mans’ heart. He causes the herds and flocks to abound. He sends prosperity, peace and promotes them as a people. Then, after all the kind blessings God gives to be enjoyed, the people let their heart drift away from a loving relationship with Him. Their hearts become entangled by the blessings God gave to be enjoyed, and then, they begin to serve the blessings instead of God. The people fall away and arrogantly reject God and His ways.

The second chapter of Jeremiah records God’s feelings of this very thing. God blesses and blesses and the people sin and sin. Then God says, “You defiled My land” by your wicked living. God deals and deals with this erring people through His Spirit’s yearning as well as the prophets’ call. “Come back”. “Come back”. “Come back to Me”. God has likened this despicable occurrence as a spouse that wickedly departs from their mate. Sinning shamelessly ever so selfishly. The “self becomes king” at whatever cost or harm. The center of life becomes one’s own desire---not God. The Self.

Ezekiel 16 records God chiding those in Jerusalem in Ezekiel’s day about their immoral and corrupt spiritual lives. God likened them to being a sister to Sodom. Yes, Sodom. Where is Sodom now? What was she like?

Christians warned: Accept Islamic law

JERUSALEM – Christians can continue living safely in the Gaza Strip only if they accept Islamic law, including a ban on alcohol and on women roaming publicly without proper head coverings, an Islamist militant leader in Gaza told WND in an exclusive interview.

The militant leader said Christians in Gaza who engage in "missionary activity" will be "dealt with harshly."

The threats come two days after a church and Christian school in Gaza was attacked following the seizure of power in the territory by the Hamas terror group.

"I expect our Christian neighbors to understand the new Hamas rule means real changes. They must be ready for Islamic rule if they want to live in peace in Gaza," said Sheik Abu Saqer, leader of Jihadia Salafiya, an Islamic outreach movement that recently announced the opening of a "military wing" to enforce Muslim law in Gaza.

Jihadia Salafiya is suspected of attacking a United Nations school in Gaza last month, after the school allowed boys and girls to participate in the same sporting event. One person was killed in that attack.

"The situation has now changed 180 degrees in Gaza," said Abu Saqer, speaking from Gaza yesterday.

"Jihadia Salafiya and other Islamic movements will ensure Christian schools and institutions show publicly what they are teaching to be sure they are not carrying out missionary activity. No more alcohol on the streets. All women, including non-Muslims, need to understand they must be covered at all times while in public," Abu Asqer told WND.

"Also the activities of Internet cafes, pool halls and bars must be stopped," he said. "If it goes on, we'll attack these things very harshly."

Abu Saqer accused the leadership of the Gaza Christian community of "proselytizing and trying to convert Muslims with funding from American evangelicals."

"This missionary activity is endangering the entire Christian community in Gaza," he said.

Abu Saqer claimed there was "no need" for the thousands of Christians in Gaza to maintain a large number of institutions in the territory.

About 2,000 Christians live in the Gaza Strip, which has a population of over 1 million.

Abu Saqer said Hamas "must work to impose an Islamic rule or it will lose the authority it has and the will of the people."

His comments come after gunmen Sunday attacked Gaza's Latin Church and adjacent Rosary Sisters School, reportedly destroying crosses, bibles, pictures of Jesus and furniture and equipment. The attackers also stole a number of computers.

The attack was the first targeting of Christian institutions since Hamas last week staged a coup against the rival Fatah party of Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas, seizing all Fatah positions and security compounds, essentially taking complete control of the Gaza Strip.

Hamas officials in Gaza claimed to WND Fatah was behind Sunday's church attack in an attempt to discredit Hamas to the international community.

Abu Saqer claimed he had "good information" the attack actually was a robbery aimed at the church's school computers, even though Bibles and Christian holy objects were destroyed.

Christians, secular institutions targeted

Israel evacuated the Gaza Strip in 2005. Since then, there have been a slew of attacks there against Christians and non-Muslims.

A month before the U.N. school was targeted, Palestinians bombed a Christian book store in Gaza reportedly funded by American Protestants that exclusively sold Christian books. Two nearby Internet cafes also were bombed.

At the time, Abu Saqer, who didn't take credit for the attack, told WND the Christian bookstore was "proselytizing and attempting to convert our people."

"As a principle, we believe that Jews and Christians will always do everything in order to keep Muslims far from their religion," Abu Saqer said.

Even before Hamas took over Gaza last week, some analysts here called the recent bombings of secular and Christian institutions in the territory indications Hamas may be seeking to impose Islamic rule on the Palestinian population.

Israeli officials said Hamas in 2005 established hard-line Islamic courts and created the Hamas Anti-Corruption Group, described as a kind of "morality police" operating within Hamas' organization. Hamas has denied the existence of the group, but it recently carried out a high-profile "honor killing" widely covered by the Palestinian media.

A Hamas-run council in the West Bank came under international criticism last year when it barred an open-air music and dance festival, declaring it was against Islam.

'West can learn from Islamic values'

In response to the uproar, Hamas chief in Gaza and former foreign minister Mahmoud al-Zahar told WND in a recent interview: "I hardly understand the point of view of the West concerning these issues. The West brought all this freedom to its people but it is that freedom that has brought about the death of morality in the West. It's what led to phenomena like homosexuality, homelessness and AIDS."

Asked if Hamas is seeking to impose hard-line Islamic law on the Palestinians, al-Zahar responded, "The Palestinian people are Muslim people, and we do not need to impose anything on our people because they are already committed to their faith and religion. People are free to choose their way of life, their way of dress and behavior."

Al-Zahar said his terror group, which demands strict dress codes for females, respects women's rights.

"It is wrong to think that in our Islamic society there is a lack of rights for women. Women enjoy their rights. What we have, unlike the West, is that young women cannot be with men and have relations outside marriage. Sometimes with tens of men. This causes the destruction of the family institution and the fact that many kids come to the world without knowing who are their fathers or who are their mothers. This is not a modern and progressed society," al-Zahar explained.

The terror chieftain told WND the West can learn from his group's Islamic values.

"Here I refer to what was said in the early '90s by Britain's Prince Charles at Oxford University. He spoke about Islam and its important role in morality and culture. He said the West must learn from Islam how to bring up children properly and to teach them the right values."

Planned Parenthood Reports Record Abortions, High Profits

(CNSNews.com) - Despite a drop in donations and the first fall in income from clinics in its history, the nation's biggest abortion provider made a high profit last year, thanks to the American taxpayer. Pro-lifers want this to stop.

During its 2005-2006 fiscal year, the nonprofit Planned Parenthood Federation of America performed a record 264,943 abortions, attained a high profit of $55.8 million and received record taxpayer funding of $305.3 million.

According to its annual report, income is divided roughly into three major categories: clinic income (fees charged to customers at clinics); donations (gifts from corporations, foundations and individuals); and taxpayer money (grants and contracts from federal, state and local government).

For the year July 1, 2005, through June 30, 2006, Planned Parenthood received $345.1 million in clinic income, $305.3 million in taxpayer funding and $212.2 million in donations. Total income reached $902.8 million while total expenses came to $847.0 million, leaving a profit of $55.8 million.

Numerous calls to Planned Parenthood offices in both New York City and Washington, D.C., seeking comment for this article, were not returned, but a statement on the organization's website says that the report "illustrates the achievements of an organization founded to prevent unintended pregnancy and protect women's health and safety."

"During a year of great change and growth, and in a political climate of increasing assaults on sexual and reproductive rights and health, Planned Parenthood continued to make enormous strides toward protecting and strengthening the reproductive health and rights of women and men worldwide," the statement adds.

Jim Sedlak, executive director of Stop Planned Parenthood (STOPP) International, told Cybercast News Service on Thursday that the flow of taxpayer dollars to the abortion provider "has to be stopped. Since our elected officials won't do their job, it's up to us."

"Clearly, it was a good overall year for Planned Parenthood," he said. "Total income went up 2.4 percent, passing $900 million for the first time."

At the same time, however, he said further analysis revealed "potential trouble spots" for the PPFA.

The report showed that income from clinics was down about $1.5 million from the previous year -- the first such decline in the organization's 50-year history -- while donations also fell by $3.6 million.

So why was Planned Parenthood able to report such a high profit?

"The final category of Planned Parenthood revenue sources is you and me -- the American taxpayer," Sedlak said. He noted that the amount of taxpayer funding reported by PPFA exceeded that of the previous year by $32.6 million, or 12 percent.

"The bottom line is that Planned Parenthood is losing donations, its clinic income is down, and you and I are being forced to pay more so the organization can kill our children through abortion and spread its perverted ideology throughout the land," Sedlak said.

"Everyone is getting the message: Stay away from Planned Parenthood. Everyone, that is, except our elected officials," Sedlak stated. "Without the increase in taxpayer funds, Planned Parenthood would have had an overall decline in income this year."

The jump in taxpayer funding to the PPFA also drew criticism from Douglas Scott, Jr., president of Life Decisions International (LDI).

"This 'not-for-profit' entity ends every fiscal year with tens of millions of dollars in 'excess revenue over expenses,' which is known to regular people as 'profit,'" he said in a statement.

Referring to the closing date of the latest annual report, Scott noted that "on June 30, 2006, PPFA had net assets valued at $839.8 million, of which $330.9 million was unrestricted and another $116.6 million was temporarily restricted."

"This is essentially a savings account," he said. "The money is sitting in a bank and drawing interest that will further advance Planned Parenthood's deadly agenda."

Ratio of abortions to adoptions

Tony Perkins, president of the Family Research Council, noted that while the PPFA reported carrying out a record number of abortions in 2005-2006, it "did not record a single adoption referral."

In the previous year, PPFA reported 1,414 adoption referrals, which Sedlak said amounted to one adoption for every 180 abortions.

The fact that the organization chose not to release a number for adoptions in the latest fiscal year, he said, meant that "we can only assume the number was so low that Planned Parenthood didn't want to embarrass itself by revealing it."

"You will not find the word 'adoption' anywhere in the PPFA's 2005-2006 Annual Report," Scott observed.

Cybercast News Service previously reported that Planned Parenthood has faced financial struggles for the past several years. The organization's 2003-2004 fiscal year report showed it was performing more abortions at fewer clinics than in the past.

Cecile Richards became the group's new president in February of 2006, just as the clinics in her home state faced cutbacks and even shutdowns because of budget amendments passed by the Texas legislature.

And last December, STOPP International said that 2006 had been "another year of struggle for Planned Parenthood" since the number of clinics the organization operated had dropped to its lowest level since 1987.

Several abortion rights groups Thursday declined to comment on the finances of another organization.

In a recent statement, PPFA President Cecile Richards argued that more funding was needed for its work.

"Currently, more than 17 million women in the U.S. need publicly-funded family planning services, and there is not enough funding to meet the need," she said. "Nearly 750,000 teenagers in the U.S. will become pregnant this year.

"As the leading advocate and provider of reproductive health care, Planned Parenthood knows that affordable health care services and access to medically accurate health information and education are the keys to reducing teen pregnancy and to building strong, healthy families," Richards said.

But on Thursday, Sedlak saw the PPFA's declining number of clinics as a silver lining in the organization's new report.

"This data should encourage all who fight Planned Parenthood in your community every day," he said. "Planned Parenthood is hurting. It is closing down clinics faster than it can open new ones, and its clinic income is down. Now is the time to rededicate ourselves to a tireless fight against Planned Parenthood."

WASHINGTON -- Iran is not only covertly developing nuclear weapons, it is already testing ballistic missiles specifically designed to destroy America's technical infrastructure, effectively neutralizing the world's lone superpower, say U.S. intelligence sources, top scientists and western missile industry experts.

The radical Shiite regime has conducted successful tests to determine if its Shahab-3 ballistic missiles, capable of carrying a nuclear warhead, can be detonated by a remote-control device while still in high-altitude flight.

Scientists, including President Reagan's top science adviser, William R. Graham, say there is no other explanation for such tests than preparation for the deployment of electromagnetic pulse weapons – even one of which could knock out America's critical electrical and technological infrastructure, effectively sending the continental U.S. back to the 19th century with a recovery time of months or years.

Iran will have that capability – at least theoretically – as soon as it has one nuclear bomb ready to arm such a missile. North Korea, a strategic ally of Iran, already boasts such capability.

The stunning report was first published over the weekend in Joseph Farah's G2 Bulletin, the premium, online intelligence newsletter published by WND's founder.

Just last month, Congress heard testimony about the use of such weapons and the threat they pose from rogue regimes.

Iran has surprised intelligence analysts by describing the mid-flight detonations of missiles fired from ships on the Caspian Sea as "successful" tests. Even primitive Scud missiles could be used for this purpose. And top U.S. intelligence officials reminded members of Congress that there is a glut of these missiles on the world market. They are currently being bought and sold for about $100,000 apiece.

"A terrorist organization might have trouble putting a nuclear warhead 'on target' with a Scud, but it would be much easier to simply launch and detonate in the atmosphere," wrote Sen. John Kyl, R-Ariz., in the Washington Post a week ago. "No need for the risk and difficulty of trying to smuggle a nuclear weapon over the border or hit a particular city. Just launch a cheap missile from a freighter in international waters – al-Qaida is believed to own about 80 such vessels – and make sure to get it a few miles in the air."

The Iranian missile tests were more sophisticated and capable of detonation at higher elevations – making them more dangerous.

Detonated at a height of 60 to 500 kilometers above the continental U.S., one nuclear warhead could cripple the country – knocking out electrical power and circuit boards and rendering the U.S. domestic communications impotent.

While Iran still insists officially in talks currently underway with the European Union that it is only developing nuclear power for peaceful civilian purposes, the mid-flight detonation missile tests persuade U.S. military planners and intelligence agencies that Tehran can only be planning such an attack, which depends on the availability of at least one nuclear warhead.

Some analysts believe the stage of Iranian missile developments suggests Iranian scientists will move toward the production of weapons-grade nuclear material shortly as soon as its nuclear reactor in Busher is operative.

Jerome Corsi, author of "Atomic Iran," told WorldNetDaily the new findings about Iran's electromagnetic pulse experiments significantly raise the stakes of the mullah regime's bid to become a nuclear power.

"Up until now, I believed the nuclear threat to the U.S. from Iran was limited to the ability of terrorists to penetrate the borders or port security to deliver a device to a major city," he said. "While that threat should continue to be a grave concern for every American, these tests by Iran demonstrate just how devious the fanatical mullahs in Tehran are. We are facing a clever and unscrupulous adversary in Iran that could bring America to its knees."

Earlier this week, Iran's top nuclear official said Europe must heed an Iranian proposal on uranium enrichment or risk a collapse of the talks.

The warning by Hassan Rowhani, head of the Supreme National Security Council, came as diplomats from Britain, France and Germany began talks with their Iranian counterparts in Geneva, ahead of a more senior-level meeting in London set for April 29. Enrichment produces fuel for nuclear reactors, which can also be used in the explosive core of nuclear bombs.

"The Europeans should tell us whether these ideas can work as the basis for continued negotiations or not," Rowhani said, referring to the Iranian proposal put forward last month that would allow some uranium enrichment. "If yes, fine. If not, then the negotiations cannot continue," he said.

Some analysts believe Iran is using the negotiations merely to buy time for further development of the nuclear program.

The U.S. plans, according to Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, to allow the EU talks to continue before deciding this summer to push for United Nations sanctions against Iran.

Last month, the Senate Judiciary Subcommittee on Terrorism, Technology and Homeland Security chaired by Kyl, held a hearing on the electromagnetic pulse, or EMP, threat.

"An electromagnetic pulse (EMP) attack on the American homeland, said one of the distinguished scientists who testified at the hearing, is one of only a few ways that the United States could be defeated by its enemies – terrorist or otherwise," wrote Kyl "And it is probably the easiest. A single Scud missile, carrying a single nuclear weapon, detonated at the appropriate altitude, would interact with the Earth's atmosphere, producing an electromagnetic pulse radiating down to the surface at the speed of light. Depending on the location and size of the blast, the effect would be to knock out already stressed power grids and other electrical systems across much or even all of the continental United States, for months if not years."

The purpose of an EMP attack, unlike a nuclear attack on land, is not to kill people, but "to kill electrons," as Graham explained. He serves as chairman of the Commission to Assess the Threat to the United States from Electromagnetic Pulse Attack and was director of the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy and science adviser to the president during the Reagan administration.

Graham told WorldNetDaily he could think of no other reason for Iran to be experimenting with mid-air detonation of missiles than for the planning of an EMP-style attack.

"EMP offers a bigger bang for the buck," he said. He also suggested such an attack makes a U.S. nuclear response against a suspected enemy less likely than would the detonation of a nuclear bomb in a major U.S. city.

A 2004 report by the commission found "several potential adversaries have or can acquire the capability to attack the United States with a high-altitude nuclear weapons-generated electromagnetic pulse (EMP). A determined adversary can achieve an EMP attack capability without having a high level of sophistication."

"EMP is one of a small number of threats that can hold our society at risk of catastrophic consequences," the report said. "EMP will cover the wide geographic region within line of sight to the nuclear weapon. It has the capability to produce significant damage to critical infrastructures and thus to the very fabric of U.S. society, as well as to the ability of the United States and Western nations to project influence and military power."

The major impact of EMP weapons is on electronics, "so pervasive in all aspects of our society and military, coupled through critical infrastructures," explained the report.

"Their effects on systems and infrastructures dependent on electricity and electronics could be sufficiently ruinous as to qualify as catastrophic to the nation," Lowell Wood, acting chairman of the commission, told members of Congress.

The commission report went so far as to suggest, in its opening sentence, that an EMP attack "might result in the defeat of our military forces."

"Briefly, a single nuclear weapon exploded at high altitude above the United States will interact with the Earth's atmosphere, ionosphere and magnetic field to produce an electromagnetic pulse (EMP) radiation down to the Earth and additionally create electrical currents in the Earth," said the report. "EMP effects are both direct and indirect. The former are due to electrical systems, and the latter arise from the damage that 'shocked' – upset, damaged and destroyed – electronics controls then inflict on the systems in which they are embedded. The indirect effects can be even more severe than the direct effects."

The EMP threat is not a new one considered by U.S. defense planners. The Soviet Union had experimented with the idea as a kind of super-weapon against the U.S.

"What is different now is that some potential sources of EMP threats are difficult to deter – they can be terrorist groups that have no state identity, have only one or a few weapons and are motivated to attack the U.S. without regard for their own safety," explains the commission report. "Rogue states, such as North Korea and Iran, may also be developing the capability to pose an EMP threat to the United States and may also be unpredictable and difficult to deter."

Graham describes the potential "cascading effect" of an EMP attack. If electrical power is knocked out and circuit boards fried, telecommunications are disrupted, energy deliveries are impeded, the financial system breaks down, food, water and gasoline become scarce.

As Kyl put it: "Few if any people would die right away. But the loss of power would have a cascading effect on all aspects of U.S. society. Communication would be largely impossible. Lack of refrigeration would leave food rotting in warehouses, exacerbated by a lack of transportation as those vehicles still working simply ran out of gas (which is pumped with electricity). The inability to sanitize and distribute water would quickly threaten public health, not to mention the safety of anyone in the path of the inevitable fires, which would rage unchecked. And as we have seen in areas of natural and other disasters, such circumstances often result in a fairly rapid breakdown of social order."

"American society has grown so dependent on computer and other electrical systems that we have created our own Achilles' heel of vulnerability, ironically much greater than those of other, less developed nations," the senator wrote. "When deprived of power, we are in many ways helpless, as the New York City blackout made clear. In that case, power was restored quickly because adjacent areas could provide help. But a large-scale burnout caused by a broad EMP attack would create a much more difficult situation. Not only would there be nobody nearby to help, it could take years to replace destroyed equipment."

The commission said hardening key infrastructure systems and procuring vital backup equipment such as transformers is both feasible and – compared with the threat – relatively inexpensive.

"But it will take leadership by the Department of Homeland Security, the Defense Department, and other federal agencies, along with support from Congress, all of which have yet to materialize," wrote Kyl, so far the only elected official blowing the whistle this alarming development.

Kyl concluded in his report: "The Sept. 11 commission report stated that our biggest failure was one of 'imagination.' No one imagined that terrorists would do what they did on Sept. 11. Today few Americans can conceive of the possibility that terrorists could bring our society to its knees by destroying everything we rely on that runs on electricity. But this time we've been warned, and we'd better be prepared to respond."

HOMELAND SECURITY PRESIDENTIAL DIRECTIVE/HSPD-20

Subject: National Continuity Policy

Purpose

(1) This directive establishes a comprehensive national policy on the continuity of Federal Government structures and operations and a single National Continuity Coordinator responsible for coordinating the development and implementation of Federal continuity policies. This policy establishes "National Essential Functions," prescribes continuity requirements for all executive departments and agencies, and provides guidance for State, local, territorial, and tribal governments, and private sector organizations in order to ensure a comprehensive and integrated national continuity program that will enhance the credibility of our national security posture and enable a more rapid and effective response to and recovery from a national emergency.

Definitions

(2) In this directive:

(a) "Category" refers to the categories of executive departments and agencies listed in Annex A to this directive;

(b) "Catastrophic Emergency" means any incident, regardless of location, that results in extraordinary levels of mass casualties, damage, or disruption severely affecting the U.S. population, infrastructure, environment, economy, or government functions;

(c) "Continuity of Government," or "COG," means a coordinated effort within the Federal Government's executive branch to ensure that National Essential Functions continue to be performed during a Catastrophic Emergency;

(d) "Continuity of Operations," or "COOP," means an effort within individual executive departments and agencies to ensure that Primary Mission-Essential Functions continue to be performed during a wide range of emergencies, including localized acts of nature, accidents, and technological or attack-related emergencies;

(e) "Enduring Constitutional Government," or "ECG," means a cooperative effort among the executive, legislative, and judicial branches of the Federal Government, coordinated by the President, as a matter of comity with respect to the legislative and judicial branches and with proper respect for the constitutional separation of powers among the branches, to preserve the constitutional framework under which the Nation is governed and the capability of all three branches of government to execute constitutional responsibilities and provide for orderly succession, appropriate transition of leadership, and interoperability and support of the National Essential Functions during a catastrophic emergency;

(f) "Executive Departments and Agencies" means the executive departments enumerated in 5 U.S.C. 101, independent establishments as defined by 5 U.S.C. 104(1), Government corporations as defined by 5 U.S.C. 103(1), and the United States Postal Service;

(g) "Government Functions" means the collective functions of the heads of executive departments and agencies as defined by statute, regulation, presidential direction, or other legal authority, and the functions of the legislative and judicial branches;

(h) "National Essential Functions," or "NEFs," means that subset of Government Functions that are necessary to lead and sustain the Nation during a catastrophic emergency and that, therefore, must be supported through COOP and COG capabilities; and

(i) "Primary Mission Essential Functions," or "PMEFs," means those Government Functions that must be performed in order to support or implement the performance of NEFs before, during, and in the aftermath of an emergency.

Policy

(3) It is the policy of the United States to maintain a comprehensive and effective continuity capability composed of Continuity of Operations and Continuity of Government programs in order to ensure the preservation of our form of government under the Constitution and the continuing performance of National Essential Functions under all conditions.

Implementation Actions

(4) Continuity requirements shall be incorporated into daily operations of all executive departments and agencies. As a result of the asymmetric threat environment, adequate warning of potential emergencies that could pose a significant risk to the homeland might not be available, and therefore all continuity planning shall be based on the assumption that no such warning will be received. Emphasis will be placed upon geographic dispersion of leadership, staff, and infrastructure in order to increase survivability and maintain uninterrupted Government Functions. Risk management principles shall be applied to ensure that appropriate operational readiness decisions are based on the probability of an attack or other incident and its consequences.

(5) The following NEFs are the foundation for all continuity programs and capabilities and represent the overarching responsibilities of the Federal Government to lead and sustain the Nation during a crisis, and therefore sustaining the following NEFs shall be the primary focus of the Federal Government leadership during and in the aftermath of an emergency that adversely affects the performance of Government Functions:

(a) Ensuring the continued functioning of our form of government under the Constitution, including the functioning of the three separate branches of government;

(b) Providing leadership visible to the Nation and the world and maintaining the trust and confidence of the American people;

(c) Defending the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic, and preventing or interdicting attacks against the United States or its people, property, or interests;

(d) Maintaining and fostering effective relationships with foreign nations;

(e) Protecting against threats to the homeland and bringing to justice perpetrators of crimes or attacks against the United States or its people, property, or interests;

(f) Providing rapid and effective response to and recovery from the domestic consequences of an attack or other incident;

(g) Protecting and stabilizing the Nation's economy and ensuring public confidence in its financial systems; and

(h) Providing for critical Federal Government services that address the national health, safety, and welfare needs of the United States.

(6) The President shall lead the activities of the Federal Government for ensuring constitutional government. In order to advise and assist the President in that function, the Assistant to the President for Homeland Security and Counterterrorism (APHS/CT) is hereby designated as the National Continuity Coordinator. The National Continuity Coordinator, in coordination with the Assistant to the President for National Security Affairs (APNSA), without exercising directive authority, shall coordinate the development and implementation of continuity policy for executive departments and agencies. The Continuity Policy Coordination Committee (CPCC), chaired by a Senior Director from the Homeland Security Council staff, designated by the National Continuity Coordinator, shall be the main day-to-day forum for such policy coordination.

(7) For continuity purposes, each executive department and agency is assigned to a category in accordance with the nature and characteristics of its national security roles and responsibilities in support of the Federal Government's ability to sustain the NEFs. The Secretary of Homeland Security shall serve as the President's lead agent for coordinating overall continuity operations and activities of executive departments and agencies, and in such role shall perform the responsibilities set forth for the Secretary in sections 10 and 16 of this directive.

(8) The National Continuity Coordinator, in consultation with the heads of appropriate executive departments and agencies, will lead the development of a National Continuity Implementation Plan (Plan), which shall include prioritized goals and objectives, a concept of operations, performance metrics by which to measure continuity readiness, procedures for continuity and incident management activities, and clear direction to executive department and agency continuity coordinators, as well as guidance to promote interoperability of Federal Government continuity programs and procedures with State, local, territorial, and tribal governments, and private sector owners and operators of critical infrastructure, as appropriate. The Plan shall be submitted to the President for approval not later than 90 days after the date of this directive.

(9) Recognizing that each branch of the Federal Government is responsible for its own continuity programs, an official designated by the Chief of Staff to the President shall ensure that the executive branch's COOP and COG policies in support of ECG efforts are appropriately coordinated with those of the legislative and judicial branches in order to ensure interoperability and allocate national assets efficiently to maintain a functioning Federal Government.

(10) Federal Government COOP, COG, and ECG plans and operations shall be appropriately integrated with the emergency plans and capabilities of State, local, territorial, and tribal governments, and private sector owners and operators of critical infrastructure, as appropriate, in order to promote interoperability and to prevent redundancies and conflicting lines of authority. The Secretary of Homeland Security shall coordinate the integration of Federal continuity plans and operations with State, local, territorial, and tribal governments, and private sector owners and operators of critical infrastructure, as appropriate, in order to provide for the delivery of essential services during an emergency.

(11) Continuity requirements for the Executive Office of the President (EOP) and executive departments and agencies shall include the following:

(a) The continuation of the performance of PMEFs during any emergency must be for a period up to 30 days or until normal operations can be resumed, and the capability to be fully operational at alternate sites as soon as possible after the occurrence of an emergency, but not later than 12 hours after COOP activation;

(b) Succession orders and pre-planned devolution of authorities that ensure the emergency delegation of authority must be planned and documented in advance in accordance with applicable law;

(d) Provision must be made for the acquisition of the resources necessary for continuity operations on an emergency basis;

(e) Provision must be made for the availability and redundancy of critical communications capabilities at alternate sites in order to support connectivity between and among key government leadership, internal elements, other executive departments and agencies, critical partners, and the public;

(f) Provision must be made for reconstitution capabilities that allow for recovery from a catastrophic emergency and resumption of normal operations; and

(g) Provision must be made for the identification, training, and preparedness of personnel capable of relocating to alternate facilities to support the continuation of the performance of PMEFs.

(12) In order to provide a coordinated response to escalating threat levels or actual emergencies, the Continuity of Government Readiness Conditions (COGCON) system establishes executive branch continuity program readiness levels, focusing on possible threats to the National Capital Region. The President will determine and issue the COGCON Level. Executive departments and agencies shall comply with the requirements and assigned responsibilities under the COGCON program. During COOP activation, executive departments and agencies shall report their readiness status to the Secretary of Homeland Security or the Secretary's designee.

(13) The Director of the Office of Management and Budget shall:

(a) Conduct an annual assessment of executive department and agency continuity funding requests and performance data that are submitted by executive departments and agencies as part of the annual budget request process, in order to monitor progress in the implementation of the Plan and the execution of continuity budgets;

(b) In coordination with the National Continuity Coordinator, issue annual continuity planning guidance for the development of continuity budget requests; and

(c) Ensure that heads of executive departments and agencies prioritize budget resources for continuity capabilities, consistent with this directive.

(14) The Director of the Office of Science and Technology Policy shall:

(a) Define and issue minimum requirements for continuity communications for executive departments and agencies, in consultation with the APHS/CT, the APNSA, the Director of the Office of Management and Budget, and the Chief of Staff to the President;

(b) Establish requirements for, and monitor the development, implementation, and maintenance of, a comprehensive communications architecture to integrate continuity components, in consultation with the APHS/CT, the APNSA, the Director of the Office of Management and Budget, and the Chief of Staff to the President; and

(c) Review quarterly and annual assessments of continuity communications capabilities, as prepared pursuant to section 16(d) of this directive or otherwise, and report the results and recommended remedial actions to the National Continuity Coordinator.

(15) An official designated by the Chief of Staff to the President shall:

(a) Advise the President, the Chief of Staff to the President, the APHS/CT, and the APNSA on COGCON operational execution options; and

(b) Consult with the Secretary of Homeland Security in order to ensure synchronization and integration of continuity activities among the four categories of executive departments and agencies.

(16) The Secretary of Homeland Security shall:

(a) Coordinate the implementation, execution, and assessment of continuity operations and activities;

(b) Develop and promulgate Federal Continuity Directives in order to establish continuity planning requirements for executive departments and agencies;

(c) Conduct biennial assessments of individual department and agency continuity capabilities as prescribed by the Plan and report the results to the President through the APHS/CT;

(d) Conduct quarterly and annual assessments of continuity communications capabilities in consultation with an official designated by the Chief of Staff to the President;

(e) Develop, lead, and conduct a Federal continuity training and exercise program, which shall be incorporated into the National Exercise Program developed pursuant to Homeland Security Presidential Directive-8 of December 17, 2003 ("National Preparedness"), in consultation with an official designated by the Chief of Staff to the President;

(f) Develop and promulgate continuity planning guidance to State, local, territorial, and tribal governments, and private sector critical infrastructure owners and operators;

(g) Make available continuity planning and exercise funding, in the form of grants as provided by law, to State, local, territorial, and tribal governments, and private sector critical infrastructure owners and operators; and

(h) As Executive Agent of the National Communications System, develop, implement, and maintain a comprehensive continuity communications architecture.

(17) The Director of National Intelligence, in coordination with the Attorney General and the Secretary of Homeland Security, shall produce a biennial assessment of the foreign and domestic threats to the Nation's continuity of government.

(18) The Secretary of Defense, in coordination with the Secretary of Homeland Security, shall provide secure, integrated, Continuity of Government communications to the President, the Vice President, and, at a minimum, Category I executive departments and agencies.

(19) Heads of executive departments and agencies shall execute their respective department or agency COOP plans in response to a localized emergency and shall:

(a) Appoint a senior accountable official, at the Assistant Secretary level, as the Continuity Coordinator for the department or agency;

(b) Identify and submit to the National Continuity Coordinator the list of PMEFs for the department or agency and develop continuity plans in support of the NEFs and the continuation of essential functions under all conditions;

(d) Plan, conduct, and support annual tests and training, in consultation with the Secretary of Homeland Security, in order to evaluate program readiness and ensure adequacy and viability of continuity plans and communications systems; and

(e) Support other continuity requirements, as assigned by category, in accordance with the nature and characteristics of its national security roles and responsibilities

General Provisions

(20) This directive shall be implemented in a manner that is consistent with, and facilitates effective implementation of, provisions of the Constitution concerning succession to the Presidency or the exercise of its powers, and the Presidential Succession Act of 1947 (3 U.S.C. 19), with consultation of the Vice President and, as appropriate, others involved. Heads of executive departments and agencies shall ensure that appropriate support is available to the Vice President and others involved as necessary to be prepared at all times to implement those provisions.

(21) This directive:

(a) Shall be implemented consistent with applicable law and the authorities of agencies, or heads of agencies, vested by law, and subject to the availability of appropriations;

(b) Shall not be construed to impair or otherwise affect (i) the functions of the Director of the Office of Management and Budget relating to budget, administrative, and legislative proposals, or (ii) the authority of the Secretary of Defense over the Department of Defense, including the chain of command for military forces from the President, to the Secretary of Defense, to the commander of military forces, or military command and control procedures; and

(c) Is not intended to, and does not, create any rights or benefits, substantive or procedural, enforceable at law or in equity by a party against the United States, its agencies, instrumentalities, or entities, its officers, employees, or agents, or any other person.

(22) Revocation. Presidential Decision Directive 67 of October 21, 1998 ("Enduring Constitutional Government and Continuity of Government Operations"), including all Annexes thereto, is hereby revoked.

(23) Annex A and the classified Continuity Annexes, attached hereto, are hereby incorporated into and made a part of this directive.

(24) Security. This directive and the information contained herein shall be protected from unauthorized disclosure, provided that, except for Annex A, the Annexes attached to this directive are classified and shall be accorded appropriate handling, consistent with applicable Executive Orders.
